A great centre for culture. The Pre-Raphaelites exhibition is superb and a must see. The Lowry section is also very interesting. Great cafe also.

Brilliant show in a brilliant theatre. These guys are my favourite band and being Irish myself it was a great nights crack as always. Fantastic location.

Came here for the first time to watch Britain’s Got Talent auditions, really comfort seats. The seating is just right size for the audience. Lovely staff.

I am not normally into galleries, but found this gallery very interesting. I really enjoyed reading about Lowry and looking at his art. The gallery is a nice size, not overwhelmingly big. If you are in the area, it is well worth a visit.

After surviving the Edinburgh Fringe Fest gauntlet, Australian comic Felicity Ward has hit the road with her newly polished show, Busting a Nut, landing at The Lowry Studio on Friday night.

It was my first time at the studio and my first time seeing Ward live, so anticipation was in the air for what the night was about to entail as I bopped along to what has to be one of the best opening playlists I've heard in a long time.

The lights dimmed and a familiar voice rang out, announcing the lady of the evening: Felicity Ward. She burst onto stage with the audience cheering as hard as they could muster and she dove right into the jokes from the outset. Ward lay out the agenda for the show with a brief introduction of her incredible support act (I won't spoil who), explaining that the night was to be comprised of two parts, first a chilled out chat session with the audience, followed by the show itself, Busting a Nut.

Ward warmed up by riffing off the crowd, diving headfirst into people's lives to extract the funny - although we ultimately found out that Salford is full of pure angels who all work in social care. We explored Ward's great love for the tiny and the strange pattern of interesting craftsmen in her audiences, finishing up with a little insight into her relationship with a practice her and partner love to do - Chicken Karaoke.
