“great service and excellent staff”
Reviewed 18 October 2011

Really enjoyed staying here, the service was excellent and the staff very personable. The rooms are of a very high standard. After reading the mixed reviews below (after booking!!) I had some reservations (pardon the pun). However any fears that I had about staying here were laid to rest as soon as I arrived and was greeted like an old friend. really could not recommend the Queens highly enough, when I next go down to Aldershot/London area it will be the only place I stay! Thanks for all you hard work...

arrived really late due to bad traffic,t was made to feel very welcome, they send up some cakes (we had tea/coffee facilities in room) had nice en suite, clean and tidy, soft towels and nice bedding, which is always a plus
next day we had full english breakfasts, and the evening meal of steak and chips, followed by several pints in bar was a nice end to the first day!
over the next 3 days, we invited our mates over to join us for meal times, and they were catered for as well as we were

The Queen Hotel is in the heart of Aldershot with easy access to all the local amenities. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and comfortable and housekeeping is to a high standard. There is plenty of off road parking in a secure carpark at the rear of the hotel. There is a good choice of breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant. There is also free WiFi to all the rooms. I enjoyed my stay at the Queen Hotel and would definitely stay again.

They had the booking all wrong. A friend and I had room 9. It was a disgrace, really very poor. We opted for this because the website looked good, but really we should have used the premier inn seconds down the road. I mean this room didn't even have a lamp shade, just a bare bulb. All the paint was flaking off every where, bare brickwork and plaster in the bathroom and the beds, well it was like laying on a bed of uneven springs with a sheet on them. The room was generally clean but looked dirty, marks on the walls etc. There was a kettle in the room positioned next (centimetres away due to the short plu lead) to the worlds smallest telly (for which the remote didn't work) ,nice and safe, but it makes no difference because you can't fill the kettle in the tiny sink,. Really don't do it, another £6 gets you in the premier. It was a dreadful experience and we only stayed one night. If after reading this you still consider staying there, you are a fool.

We booked the Queen Hotel 2 months in advance on business. We then got a phone call the night before checking we still wanted the room. We said 'yes' and he said that was fine. We then arrived on the day and were told they only had 1 of the 2 rooms we booked. We had to stay together due to the nature of our business and so he said he would try and get us into another hotel. He drove us 2 miles away to hotel. We purposely booked the queen hotel because it was right next door to our workplace and we had to get into work at 8am so we didn't want to wake up really early. So already we weren't happy with the fact that they have made us move 2 miles away. We then offered to go into a triple room to save expenses that he was willing to pay and he then said we had to pay more because there was breakfast included. He then shouted at us in the lobby of another hotel. I was so disgusted with the way I was spoken to and he had no intention of ever putting the customers needs first. He purposely overbooked his hotel for money but then got himself into a situation that he couldn't be bothered to sort out. I will never want to go anywhere near that hotel again. And I recommend no-one else does either. Overall: STAY AWAY!!!!!

I booked a room for two nights B/B on Sat & Sun 26/27 Feb '11. In the en-suite there was no hot water in the wash basin, and the shower head was broken. On Mon morning I came down for breakfast, and there was nobody about. The first of the staff to turn up was at 0900hrs, and then I was told that breakfast was not served on Monday mornings. I would certainly not recommend this hotel to anybody.
