Hubby and I stayed here for two nights for only £130.00 which we did not think was too bad at all.
The car park was quite substantial and on arrival we had no problem at all in locating a convenient space. On entering the hotel we were met and checked in by a lovely, cheerful and personable receptionist who interacted well in a friendly manner, she advised us that the hotel was pretty quiet so the restaurant was not open but the same food was being served in the bar therefore not a problem to us. We were given our key and directed to our room, which was quite a distance from reception - one of hubby's pet hates: "Why if the hotel is quiet have they put us in a room so bloody far away" he moaned, until he opened the door to our room, it was quite a size indeed with views of the cricket pitch from our window and we were both pleasantly surprised. Although the furniture was quite dated the room itself appeared to have been recently redecorated and it was spotlessly clean throughout. The bathroom too, appeared to have been recently redecorated and was also spotlessly clean, the net curtains were a little short but that did not bother us at all. The bathroom fixtures and fittings were all extremely clean, the shower worked well, there were clean, decent sized towels supplied along with decent toilet paper and even a few toiletries. The mattress on the bed was a little too soft for our liking but that may just be down to our personal taste. All in all I do not think we can complain about our room for the money that we paid - the bar was a bit 'Fawlty Towers' like but after a bottle of Pinot (priced at £16.00) quite amusing!
