“Thomas photos were of Alresford station, at the other end of the Watercress Line.”
Reviewed 25 February 2013

This station at the northeastern end of the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line), connects with South West Trains services to Waterloo via Woking. Tidy, well-maintained station looks authentically 1950s - as is intended.
Station Cafe (in car park) not part of Watercress Line but does good bacon butties.
Station car park is really for commuters and is expensive, IMHO.

“a very good railway station”
Reviewed 21 October 2012

An old Victorian railway station, well looked after with toilets and a cafe outside. Lots of car parking and a bus to Winchester. New clean electric trains to London Waterloo and steam trains to Alesford on the Mid-Hants Railway.

“It is a station, except when having the Thomas and Friends week”
Reviewed 8 October 2012

Thomas and Friends is superb for young children - otherwise it is a station! My granddaughter just stopped and stared when we got on the platform and Thomas was right in front of her!

“Needs more ticket machines.”
Reviewed 7 October 2012

The station is quite nice, but needs more than one ticket machine - especially in the mornings during peak hours because of all the suits. It's quite annoying how Alton is the end of the line too, and to get anywhere you have to go towards London. Waitrose has recently opened right next to the station too which is really handy.

“Neat and clean station”
Reviewed 7 October 2012

This station looks and gives a feeling old days, you can catch a train from here to Waterloo station. I have enjoyed my journey back to London in it for 3 months in year 2012. I like the peaceful and clean env of this station.
