Brilliant day out at the annual War On The Line on 10th June. Loads to see and do at each of the three stations, plus being hauled by (mostly-see later) Steam Trains..... loads of people dressed up in period costume, unexploded bombs, spies, spivs, dancing, wartime vehicles... see history brought to life!
Only slightly dodgy bit was when the Diesel engine got pressed into service which was a bit anachronistic but never mind... I guess they had problems with one of the Steam Locomotives?
Don't let that put you off. I took my father and stepmother for a day out and it exceeded their expectations by a country mile. They loved it. I did too.
