“Excellent Indian with first class flavour”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

So many Indian takeaways disappoint me. Flavour is often substituted by heat. But the Balti House offers amazing dishes that never fail to disappoint. Each dish is different offering subtle flavours or spicy sizzles but there is always that depth of flavour so often missing in takeaways. We haven't yet dined in but the takeaway service is excellent. We used to drive all the way to Liss for curry and are delighted to this gem of a restaurant has opened on our doorstep! Highly recommended.

“Tasty Food, Friendly Service, Good Value!”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

My wife and I are from Yorkshire and were visiting the area, staying overnight in Selborne. We decided to try this small restaurant / takeaway based on Tripadvisor reviews, and we weren't disappointed.

Very tasty food for a good price. Space is very limited if you want a table (this is basically a takeaway with a few tables, so don't go expecting great ambiance, however the surroundings are pleasant enough). Doesn't sell alcohol, so take your own if that's important.

Scores very highly for quality of food and friendly waiter who went out of his way to ensure we had a table, even though we didn't book in advance. My wife and I are Indian Takeaway enthusiasts, and we both agreed the food was very good, even compared to some of our favourite establishments in Glasgow and Yorkshire. Would definitely recommend based on our experience.

Firstly to the owner, apologies for late review. Fabulous people, genuinely interested in your choice of menu. Food was of excellent quality, hot in temperature and fresh. Attention to detail and service was excellent. Highly recommended.

“Amazing authentic Indian restaurant”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

Last night was the third time we've eaten at Alton Tandoori in as many weeks. The food is delicious and having spent some time travelling in India, the flavours here transport us back to very happy times there. The restaurant is small and you take your own drinks, not that this is a downside, it purely adds to the ambience. Add to this the takeaways being prepared ar the same time and you have a really buzzing place! The owner Abdul looks after everyone so well making sure to recommend a dish here and there, or make changes to any menu items, to suit individual tastes. The menu offers plenty to choose from and it's great fun trying lots of different curries. I would totally recommend this restaurant and am so glad we live near enough to visit often. Slightly disappointed we only just tried it out after two years of living in Alton! A BIG thank you to Abdul and his team!

“Small but perfectly formed...takeaway review”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

We went to this restaurant on the off-chance of finding a table for four on a Friday night. Unaware of the rather small size of the place this wasn't possible so we had a takeaway instead...this review therefore reflects on the food rather than the restaurant facilities. What we ordered was well prepared, perfectly seasoned and cooked and came as very good sized portions. The flavours were great and what we ordered was more than enough for the four of us. We would certainly go for the takeaway again although I'm not sure I would want to eat there due to it's size and the number of tables squeezed in.
