“Fantastic b&b in a great setting”
Reviewed 1 November 2012

We stayed at Upper Neatham Mill Farm for two nights as we were attending a friend's wedding in Alton and it was ideal. The setting was quiet and very peaceful. We particularly appreciated the environmentally friendly nature and the ethos behind the place. It was just a nice distance outside of the market town, enough to clear your head after a few drinks of an evening!

The cooked breakfasts were excellent, and the freshly pressed apple juice from the farm's orchard was very tasty. Good quality sausages, perfectly cooked scrambled eggs and friendly chat if you wanted it (there was no pressure if you didn't want to chat!).

Without prompt, local eating establishments were recommended (altough we weren't especially impressed with the Thai restaurant that was suggested) and the host's local knowledge was clearly very good.

The room was spacious and it was exceptionally clean. Blackout blinds were welcomed and the bed was really very comfortable.

All in all, this is a fantastic b&b and one that we would whole heartedly recommend.

Very cheerful welcome by Glen and shown to room which was very clean with a spacious en-suite shower. As we were on a cider making course with 3 other couples we all went out on the Friday evening with Glen and his family to a local pub to get to know each other, a very good idea. The course was informative and fun and we left with 3 demijohns of apple juice with all that we need to turn them into cider.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 have inside access room 3 is accessed from outside.

Arrived late but still given personal tour by Glen of the facilities and our room. Spacious room with very comfortable bed and great overhead shower. Topped off by excellent cooked breakfasts on both mornings of the stay.

The B+B is perfectly located down a narrow road, Warm welcome from Glen the owner upon arrival who couldn't do enough to ensure everything was ok. Modern rooms that are well furnished throughout, with excellent shower facilities (a must) Cooked breakfast in the morning was spot on as well as the sandwich snacks at night. There are a few nice walks around, and secure parking on site. My only critism would be that no one wants / likes to be charged extra for WiFi in this day and age it should be a basic inclusion, especially when the signal is weak in some rooms it's the only reason I haven't awarded a 5 for value.

Stayed last night on business but will definitely look to returning for pleasure! The blessed peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings; great choice with fresh fruit and homemade juice at breakfast; the excellent room with a magnificent shower (bags of hot water) en-suite; and a bed so comfortable I had the best sleep ever... you get the picture. Service was cheerful, friendly but never intrusive - all in all top value for the very reasonable price.
