20 of us booked in March 14, the service was great. The staff were excellent and made sure we were all happy. All 20 plates of food came out in a constant stream and all was hot and very good. I would recommend you try the Poplar Farm, especially if in the past (and under different management) you found it awful. What a difference now! Well done all.

We went to the Poplar Farm for a Mothers Day lunch and we all had the roast beef which was on offer, the meat was tender and everybody in my party were happy were with their meals. We were served by a young gentleman with glasses who has a friendly way about him and he checked if were happy and offered us more drinks. Overall a great afternoon and my 78 year old mother enjoyed her self, we will be returning to the Poplar Farm for special occasions in future.

We'd not been to the Poplar Farm for over a year, but decided to call in this weekend. All in all, it seems to have dropped off its standards since we were last there. The welcome and staff were really good, but the food has adopted a mass-produced feel. Starters were v small in size (one quarter of toasted bread to accompany a pate starter for example). One of our mains was not heated through to the middle, whilst some accompaniments were done to a crisp! Puddings were, in contrast to the starters, over-generously proportioned, however pastries left the impression of being bought in rather than made on site and were a little synthetic.

It's a real shame as this was nowhere near as good as we had seen on a previous visits. I hope it's just a blip, but I'm not sure we'll be rushing back anytime soon.

We visited at tea time on a Friday recently. The welcome was friendly and the waitress attentive. Service was good but then the place wasn't busy. We both had wild boar/chorizo burger with fries. The burger was fine, the portion of chips on the small side but what griped the most was the side of onion rings at £2.50. Four small rings and that was it. Very disappointing. Also, a very large restaurant but we were put into an area already busy with other diners and a family with a very unruly child. All in all, a satisfactory meal but quite expensive for what you got. We didn't bother with desert or coffee, instead went into Andover and had a Costa.

Wish I had read the reviews before visiting for lunch today. The restaurant wasn't busy and yet we had to wait an hour for our main meals to arrive. I ordered the goats cheese salad which was ok but just not enough of it, the portion size was tiny, definately not value for money. We were also overcharged on our bill but only found out once we arrived home. The staff are friendly and the venue very nice but won't be going back again.
