“Good hotel but unwilling to resolve problems”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

I have stayed here a couple of times and the facilities are very good and the rooms pleasant and well kept. However, on this occasion, Premier Inn made a mistake with the booking and on arrival refused to correct it despite acknowledging it was their mistake. This spoilt my stay, especially as I arrived very late and tired. The different receptionist the next day was very apologetic but by then it was too late to change anything.

Excellent value for money . Easy to find at motorway junction .A comfortable bed and a great nights sleep, for a change the hair dryer is by a mirror that has a light . Not the usual semi darkness. Good powerful shower .

We stayed in a family room for one night to attend a friend's wedding reception.
Staff on arrival were very friendly and efficient, chatting to our two daughters.
The room was spotless, with one sofa bed and one put-you-up all made up ready. All facilities expected for a Premier Inn were present and correct!
It was one of the hottest days of the year, however, and with no air-con, the staff had closed the curtains and left two fans running to keep the room temperature down. Despite their best efforts, it was still a very hot room, hence 4 out of 5 stars.
We asked for various extras, such as a top sheet instead of a duvet, and extra tea and coffee and milk, and each time the staff were swift, courteous and efficient.
We ate at the Table Table restaurant for lunch and breakfast, and both visits were good value with tasty food and helpful, efficient staff.
Despite being on the main road, and with building work taking place, there was no noise to disrupt sleep.

We arrived late at night after a 4.5 hr journey with a 30min hold up in traffic. The restaurant had closed at 10pm. Both my husband and myself were hungry. The staff were very understanding and despite the late hour were kind enough to provide us with a sandwich was gratefully received. All the staff were cheerful and only too willing to assist. The room was a good size, modern and exceptionally clean as was the bathroom.

As seen by my star rating, criticism is nit-picking really. Excellent staff, everything spotless, good food. Somewhat overwhelmed by the purple everywhere- even the bloomin' curtains are purple.. it's like a huge chasuble during Advent.
My room was cold so I turned up wall thermostat- heater worked great but soon died; I tried everything, switching on and off, lowering/raising thermostat, switching on adjacent Vent.. nothing. Receptionist brought up portable heater within 5 mins tho', so was soon a happy bunny again. Talking of receptionists, I got the impression that their entire families were staying there till I realised they are just very good at making everyone feel really welcome..!

Room Tip: ask for a room without purple curtains...
