“Burns Night Supper”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

So the review is a bit late, but if you get the chance next year, go along to their Burns Night Supper! Fantastic value with choice of starter, then haggis was piped in and the address to the Haggis was made. You then got a smaller portion of haggis, neeps and tatties, your main course and a dessert! Washed down with a good value bottle of wine or two, you couldn't ask for better night out.

The Red Carpet is staffed by students and they were just great on that very busy evening, maintaining professionalism and courtesy when dealing with the oddest of the species... the general public! But what a great way to learn how to respond to people and they certainly did a great job.

My only slight criticism is there's no signage to the restaurant from the car park and though we were pointed to the right door, a sign indicating to head up stairs would have been a good idea.

All in all, well worth a visit to any of their evenings and if you can manage it, lunchtime as well!

My husband and I had a meal in the Red Carpet Restaurant last month. The food was lovely, I had the salmon and my husband had the game pie. Both were delicious and the pastry on the pie was lovely and crisp. For a training college the food was second to none and the student serving me in the restaurant was very attentive! We plan to return in the September. All in all a fantastic evening .

“How it should be done”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

I recently went to The Red Carpet Restaurant with friends and I really enjoyed it.

In many restaurants, you see staff flying around, desperate to please their line managers to maximise the turnover of customers in an evening; not at the Red Carpet though, the students who prepared and served our courses were focused entirely on getting things right for every customer, which they did.

We were served by Charlotte, one of the many calm, methodical and professional members of a team of young people running the place, overseen at all times by a management team of College teachers which demonstrated to the diners that the Restaurant quality control was maintained at all times.

Not only was the service excellent, but the food was too, everyone really enjoyed it.

In short, top marks and a refreshing change to the norm!

“Fantastic food! Great service!”

Myself and my wife visited the Red Carpet last Thursday evening for Italian Theme! It was a fantastic experience the students made us feel so welcome and the food was very authentic to Italian cuisine I have tasted in the past! We will definitely be returning soon to support the students and sample more fantastic food!
