“Nice cafe with soft-play for kids”
Reviewed 22 January 2013

Have lived in the area for a while, but only just discovered this cafe! We have had afternoon tea and lunch on a couple of occasions. One of the biggest attractions is the soft-play area for our 2-yr-old. The food itself is tasty, cakes are lovely. The shop is well laid out with the exception of the toilets. The shop has a snaking aisle that goes from the entrance (where the cafe is) to the tills and exit (where the toilets are). With children using the soft-play area, this arrangement could perhaps have been better thought out. The toilets themselves are old and in need of updating, or at least a good deep clean.

“Nice shop, shame about the cafe”
Reviewed 22 October 2012

Cold coffee and expensive cake, so we did not stay long here. Spent more time in the Garden Centre and Craft Shop which were very good.

“What an improvement!”
Reviewed 27 February 2012

We arrived here having given up waiting for a table at a local carvery.
The restaurant has been enlarged and updated, making it spacious and airy.
We'd thought we would have to have sandwiches; but were really pleased to find counters for baguettes, soups, jacket potatoes and carvery!
My son chose fish and chips; but was disappointed - he said the batter was chewy and he thought that it wasn't freshly cooked. the rest of the family chose carvery - we all enjoyed our meals.
I went back for coffee and cake - the Costa coffee was fine - the cakes are over-priced at around £3.45 a slice!
Highly recommended for 'granny's afternoon out'!

My wife and I used this coffee shop as a retreat after our first child was born. Fantastic food and coffee at amazingly good prices.

“Excellent food - well run, clean, hope you're hungry!!”
Reviewed 10 June 2010

Lovely little cafe in the garden centre. Very good variety and standard of food, my only criticism is that the portions are too BIG for me!! Excellent value for money and friendly staff. You rarely see any tables left with dirty plates on or soiled tablecloths. Wheelchair accessible too. Well worth a visit. (Can get very busy at popular times)
