“The very best Indian restaurant in Emsworth”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

This is without doubt the very best Indian restaurant in Emsworth so don't make a mistake and book the wrong one. The food is excellent and packed with flavour. Try any one of their dishes and they taste divine and authentic, unlike other Indian restaurants in the area where every dish tastes the same. The service is excellent too; prompt and courteous. Judge the quality yourselves - but you'll have to book as it gets very busy.

“The place to eat for an Indian in Emsworth”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

If you're looking for a decent Indian meal in Emsworth, there's a serious risk you'll be tempted by the big glitzy place on the square (Spice Village, where they think that changing the colour of the lights enhances the taste of the food; trust me, it doesn't....). But don't worry...immediately to the right, you'll notice a small modest looking place, with a bog standard layout, a few tables down each side, a bar at the end, and a pretty bog standard menu too. It's been there for years. Don't be fooled - this is the place to eat; light fresh poppadoms, interesting tasty indian style food, and streets ahead of the place next door. Friendly staff and good value too. You'll need to book at weekends, because the place is packed. And it deserves to be. Recommended.

“Disappointing Meal”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

We decided to order a takeaway from this well respected local restaurant & unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. We shared the King Prawn Sizzler which consisted of just 2 King prawns in their shells. At least 4 could have been provided we thought for the price. The sauce was very nice but only luke warm.

Our main coarse was Chicken Passanda which we have enjoyed with special fried rice. Both were not up to the mark though. The passanda sauce was very light in colour & anaemic looking. The taste was no better which was a bit on the cheesey side. The rice was stodgy & not light like it should have been. I really should have taken it back but we were both extremely hungry so ate it all up but didn't enjoy at all. Maybe the chef had the night off or was ill but this standard of cooking was truly dreadful! We won't be returning.

“Very tasty”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

We came here this week for the first time and we'll go back for sure. Its a small restaurant but this makes it mor personal. The food was very tasty and the portions huge. Unfortunately the cobra on tap was off so we settled for bottles. There was three adults, we all had poppadoms, a main, breads and sagaloo and a potion of onion barhjee s with two glasses of wine and two cobras for £50 great !! Can't wait for next time.

“Nice curry”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

Taste of India is next door to quite a big restaurant. It is a small a cosy feel here. There are only about 8 or 9 tables. The waiters were polite and we had very good service. The starters were cooked lovely and when we finished they asked us if we was ready for our main course, which was nice as sometimes it can feel like you don't get 10 minutes before the next course is served. The main meal was very nice, no complaints at, all cooked lovely. Not expensive at all. Very nice evening, would go for another meal here again
