My friend and I went to The Deck for lunch as I had never visited this cafe before. The seafood platter was very enjoyable with three thick pieces of soda bread to accompany the seafood. The platter was tasty and very filling. The fondue after was a delight, plenty of fruit and marshmallows with a warmed chocolate sauce. The staff were helpful and there was no hanging around waiting for food. I will certainly return to The Deck to try one of the gorgeous array of cakes as well as lunch. I had not read trip advisor with the previous reviews before going and I was surprised at the bad reviews, certainly not my experience.

My husband and I have been visiting the Deck since it opened and I have to say what a fantastic place it is. The food is divine the staff welcoming and a wonderful place to sit and contemplate the wonderful harbour full of beautiful boats, the atmosphere is great as is the special evenings that are on offer, by the way the Tapas is a particular favourite of ours. give it a try it really is great.

the only reason we have kept going back is the lovely location but we have been disappointed on a number of occasions. Menu is very limited and not particularly good value. Very poor risotto (too sticky rice and meagre filling) and cold. We agree with other comments that some of the staff can be unfriendly but equally some are fine. But the worst aspect is the unpleasantness of the owners, particularly the chef.

Went with friends this week. Staff have an unfortunately unfriendly manner which is most unwelcoming. The food we had was ok but quite pricey for what it was. This cafe was much more welcoming when it first opened. I think the staff could do with some extra training on serving and welcoming customers.

We have been visiting, on and off, this beautifully located cafe since it first opened. Unfortunately, our experiences have not maintained such excellent initial good service and value for money since those earlier days. The staff, although not rude, could really do with some training in customer service and how to provide a more friendly approach to their work. We use to alternate between this cafe and Driftwood on Emsworth Hight Street, but from now on will be tending more towards visiting Driftwood, where there is a much friendlier atmosphere and a better value menu. Such a shame.
