“Absolutely NOTHING special.”
Reviewed 24 March 2013

Setting; dull and souless. Service; poor and inattentive, food; predictable and dull. Coffee; average. Felt like an ordinary place with regular (elderly clients) punters doing the 'same old' same old. Needed a good shake.
Middle of town (other better options a stride or 2 away). Treat yourself by going somewhere else until they perk their ideas up - hard to see 3 waitresses chatting with 4 tables uncleared. Waited an age for a 2nd coffee so walked over the road.

“Excellent Value lunch menu”
Reviewed 25 February 2013

£4.50 for quiche, salad, coffee & a refill! Choice of quiche, always fresh and very tasty, with nice portion of salad. Really good value. Service usually good, can be busy at lunchtime. Also do a good coffee and danish mid morning. It is also a bakery and patisserie, and can recommend the millionaires shortcake and most of their breads!

“Service”
Reviewed 24 February 2013

I have been coming here regularly, either to buy bread or to sit & have a coffee & a snack for some years now. I have found the food to be of good quality & the service on the take out side very good, but I must say the service in the sit down side to be terrible. All too frequently I have sat there for 15 mins or so only to be ignored by the staff walking past. Even if they acknowledged that they are aware that they have seen you would help.

“Great quiches!”
Reviewed 2 February 2013

I have been eating here fairly regularly for the last two years - and it is my favourite Heidi's branch. I often have lunch here with my sister - they do a great lunchitme deal - choice of quiche with salad garnish plus coffee / tea. All the quiches we've tried are very tasty, - I think everything is made at Heidi's bakery on Hayling Island. Lattes are good too, though it is disappointing that if you have one as part of the deal, you have to pay the full price for the latte, rather than the difference between that and a "normal" coffee. Also its a shame that like so many cafes, they only have semi-skimmed milk - nowadays many of us are health-conscious and like to have the choice of skimmed milk, but sadly that isn't available here. It is one of the few cafes in Emsworth which is open on Sundays and so it is handy, after a walk around the harbour, to pop in here for a warming coffee or tea with a cake, - being a bakery, there is usually a good choice. There is also usually a special deal for tea or coffee with a toasted tea-cake or similar - and Earl Grey tea is included in the deal. Service is always efficient, friendly and quick - and tables are cleared and cleaned promptly after customers leave - good to have waitress service too. As the tea-room is at the back of the shop part of this Heidi's it is roomier than some of their other branches (notably one of the Hayling ones) - and there are some nice paintings on the wall, including one of this branch.
