We had a lovely lunch, after booking beforehand. The service way attentive without being overbearing. The menu was short, it was Easter Monday. However the food was all very fresh and was cooked perfectly. The icecream was particularly good, as was the coffee after the meal. Will definitely consider a return.

Dear Mark B,
Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. I am delighted that you found the food and service equally acceptable and that you would consider us for a return visit. In addition to our midweek set lunch offer of 3 or 4 choices per course, we do also have an A la carte menu if guests would prefer more choice - I do hope this was also offered to you as an alternative and certainly is worth you keeping in mind for next time. We try to be as flexible as possible so if you particularly had a fancy for something that was not on any of our menus then always please mention this to your waiter/ress as Chef and his team may be able to accommodate - as all food is cooked fresh to order if we have the ingredients we would try our best to fulfil. I do hope that is useful for your next visit Mark B.
My thanks once again and I will ensure your feedback is cascaded accordingly.
Kindest regards,
Tracy.

Had a most enjoyable evening at the Brookfield for a relatives diamond wedding anniversary, the food was excellent and the staff were all very friendly and the service was swift and professional. We were party of about 30 in a separate room from the main restaurant which was set out beautifully and had a warm welcoming feel, as I said food was superb and served hot, which is always a bonus! Didn't stay at the hotel but I would certainly go back to the restaurant and would recommend this venue for any functions.

We went to this hotel for a small family meal (10 of us) and we seated in one of their smaller dining roooms, which was decorated beautifully, had lovely music playing and had a warm, calm ambience. We paid under £20 a head for a 3 course meal with coffee and biscuits and the food was second to none - just superb. I had Homemade duck pate as a starter, roast pork loin in a diane sauce as a main (with vegetables - the roast potatoes were to die for) and Sticky chocolate pudding to follow. The portions and the quality of the food was excellent throughout and there were free bottles of water on the table. There is free parking, excellent facilities and is suitable for disabled access. Maybe small children would fine this experience a bit formal and boring but for older children and adults I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I can't wait to go back.

Dear Andrea311262,
Thank you for your comprehensive review. It is always such a pleasure to read our guests feedback whether they have visited us for an overnight stay, a conference or training session or as in your case a lunch or dinner. I am delighted that we exceeded your expectations not only with the food quality but also the surroundings and environment we provide here at the hotel. As with all feedback, I will ensure that the team see your comments accordingly - this is always such a motivator for them - thank you.
Private dining rooms are becoming increasingly more popular and is great to hear that for your gathering it enhanced your visit still further. As you say, these also are ideal for families or groups with younger children who may not feel as relaxed in the main restaurant.
Our appreciation once again for your recommendation and I am confident your next visit will be equally as satisfying.
Kindest regards,
Tracy.

My wife and I chose the Brookfield due to its location in a lovely part of Hampshire, albeit on the border with West Sussex. We planned to visit the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and our booking entitled us to tickets which are valid for a full year. Our arrival was greeted with a complimentary cream tea. The scones were some of the best we've ever tasted. The evening meal was to a high standard and was served by friendly and attentive staff. The pork and the mackerel main courses were particularly good. Breakfasts are sumptuous and no-one need go away from the hotel feeling hungry. I notice a previous guest commented about the Wi-Fi and although I had the same drop-out problem in the bedroom, the signal in the lounges was very strong. Whilst we were there we became aware that there were a number of people in the restaurant in the evenings who were regular diners. This is bound to be a good indication that local people have a high opinion of the Brookfield. A big well done and thank-you to all the staff and we look forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: There is no lift, so ask for a ground floor room if stairs are a problem.

I only stayed one night, and didn't eat there, so can't claim to have fully experienced this hotel.

The receptionist was nice & the room clean, although the mattress was not very firm.

One thing caused some real difficulties: the WiFi signal kept cutting out. I had work to do but couldn't because of this.

The hotel was relatively expensive for what it is, so I would have expected the WiFi to work.

It may have been a 1-off but would definitely put me off stopping there again.

Dear BirminghamUKTony,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your review. We value all feedback and am disappointed that you experienced difficulties with the Wi-Fi during your stay. This is not typical so may have been an adhoc issue. It is not clear from your review if you raised this with the Duty Manager at the time and if we were able to resolve this for you. Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish to discuss further. Certainly, we offer all guests complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the Hotel public areas and guest bedrooms to enhance your stay with us so I apologise that this was not your experience on this occassion.
I can appreciate that this was frustrating but do hope you will reconsider staying with us again in the future as I am confident this was an isolated incident.
With kind regards,
Tracy.

Stayed here for a weekend, and apart from a mix up with the booking (one night instead of two), found the hotel to be perfectly acceptable. Good size rooms, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. Clean and tidy, downside is that it is next to a very busy road so can be noisy. To sum up I'd say old fashioned hotel reminiscent of the type that Miss Marple would stay in. Would happily go there again though

Dear Satin53,

Thank you for taking the time to add your review. Firstly, my apologies that there was an error with your booking and trust that this was resolved with professionalism and efficiency by our reception team and that this did not detract from your overall enjoyment of your stay.

At peak drive times, the Havant Road can be busy so a certain amount of road noise is inevitable in some of our rooms facing the front of the Hotel - it does of course mean the Hotel is in a great location and very easy to find on the A259. Although this does not generally cause our guests any disturbance, it is worth bearing in mind that we do have rooms overlooking our fabulous rear garden, so please request this on your next visit and we will do what we can to accommodate you.

We are very proud to retain good old fashioned service and values but in a modern and comfortable environment with a continual refurbishment programme in place to ensure our guests have the best possible experience with us.

Thank you once again for your your kind words and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit. (p.s don't forget to ask about a garden view room!)

Kindest regards,
Tracy.
