What can i say...absolutely fantastic dining experience. Very attentive but not 'over the top' staff. Excellent food & I would thoroughly recommend a visit. Top notch. If i could give 6 stars i would

Tucked away in the south east corner of Hampshire on Chichester harbour is a quiet and attractive old fishing village of Emsworth. We have lived near here for over 30 years but had never been to Fat Olive’s until now. We took Newcastle based Mother and Sister In Law for what we hoped would be a special evening dinner. It did not disappoint!
“So delicious,” she said of her bakewell tart, with whole cherries. “Such a clean, potent flavour and so in vogue these days, but I’ve never had it better than this.”
This classic ‘pud’ had followed the pea and baby gem soup with warm crevettes and pea shoots starter, and then the roast rump, braised silverside with Italian chicory main course ….. all delicious and all startlingly well-presented good food. The crevettes were, for those unsure (like us) three large and remarkably tender plump prawns.
In summary we all had different starters, mains and ‘puds’ and they were all excellent.

My husband and I went to Fat Olives for a third time and were not disappointed. We went for lunch this time rather than dinner and although a tad on the pricey side it is always worth it as we save our visits here for special occasions. The food and service was excellent as usual and although the menu is slightly limited, there is always something different to try. If you want lively, this is not the place for you, but if you want an excellent meal in pleasant surroundings you can't go wrong.

Recently took relatives here from New Zealand as wanted to show them the best local cuisine on offer in Emsworth. Fat Olives did not disappoint and it never does. This place may be small but it goes big on front of house service and the food never fails to impress. Menu consistently reflects the seasons and local produce available.
