“5 STARS EVERYTHING”
Reviewed 19 October 2012

After a recent lunch at 36 On The Quay we thought it was time to share our veiws with other potential diners.

We have visited the 36 on many occasions over many years, and we are always suprised at the
consistant good quality of food, and the attentive personal service we are given on every visit,
no pretences or pompous ceremony, just good quality, realistic experices, may it long continue.

Its a treat to be enjoyed.

“Not what I believe a Michelin star restaurant should be like”
Reviewed 16 October 2012 via mobile

I'll start by saying the food is very good but I was expecting outstanding and so was left a little deflated. Service was poor for a restaurant of this standard, I had to leave my chair twice to get a waitress. I went here several years ago and was blown away by the taste of the food, this time I wasn't, maybe it was a one off on the food side but that doesn't account for the poor service. They even brought our coffees while we were still enjoying our wine and when they were brought them back again they were clearly the same coffees with what looked lIke tidemarks where they had been put in the microwave

“Totally deserves its Michelin star”
Reviewed 13 October 2012 via mobile

A long overdue return to 36 on The Quay. This time as part of a large party to celebrate a birthday. As usual we received a warm, friendly welcome. The wine remains excellent with the Chablis my favourite. And the food was as fantastic as ever. Smoked chicken starter and the beef main course were perfect. The whole experience is absolutely top notch and totally deserves its Michelin star. This place combines relaxed dining and very high quality food & service better than any other restaurant I've ever been to.

“Meal renjoyed by everyone but service not so good”
Reviewed 12 October 2012

We dined at 36 The Quay and encouraged our friends to eat there in August.
We had praised the food and expected everyone to have a great time. The meal was very good but not quite the previous experience. I ordered the desert with the peanut glace because it had knocked me out the first time. It was a slightly different selection and not quite so good as the previous visit. Our friends left a large part of their deserts although they said they really enjoyed the meal, especially the lamb dish. We mis-chose the wine which didn't help but they do make a great vodka martini. The service, however was slow and not of the standard you would exepect in a Michelin star restaurant.

“Expensive but perfect for a special occasion”
Reviewed 29 September 2012 via mobile

Lovely setting delicious food. Thought glass of champagne at £10 was a bit steep. Though it was excellent my sea bass gravalaax was unique and the John Dory even better wonderful combination of flavours served in a fashion that would be impossible to create in a domestic kitchen Terry's scallops & turbot surpassedy dishes. Amazing deserts with all the touched in between that one would expect in such a restaurant
