Visited with a few friends as an ad hoc drop in - managed to get a table straight away despite it being busy - the menu had something for all tastes. The food was home cooked style, both hearty and plentiful! Mention must made of the ale and wine selection - definitely something for all tastes - just ask the bar staff for a taster and they will happily help you to find something you will enjoy

Being a bit of a fussy eater I often find it difficult to find a meal which I really enjoy in pubs, this is not the case at the crofton. There is always plenty of great options which you can mix and match (to an extent) and we have never once had a bad meal here. Would definitely recommend. Alongside the great food there is always a fantastic selection of real beer and the knowledgeable staff are happy to offer suggestions that I can always rely on! A must go for the food and beer enthusiast!

Booked a table for 8 to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. My parents have been here a fair number of times before and liked the place. Arrived and all seemed well, table was ready. Placed order, got some drinks. Drinks arrived ok. Meals started to arrive but one was missing and one was the wrong meal (had chips not potatoes on it). Told the salad would take another 10 minutes to arrive. My mother's meal was taken away and came back with potatoes a few minutes later. In the mean time my father started to eat his but it was inedible as it was far too salty. His was taken away and now he had to wait for a replacement meal. This duly arrived but the salad still had not. After another 10 minutes we finally attracted a waitress who went to see where the salad was, told another 2-3 minutes. Everyone else finished and about 15 minutes later the salad finally arrived. Too late. It was sent back as my sister did not want to eat alone. A waiter came to apologise and offered free drinks. We did not want that. Asked for the manager and a lady who was standing in talked to us. She refused any form of sweetener for ruining the birthday for my parents. My father was so upset that he could not even eat any of his replacement dinner. He ended up having to pay for everything delivered except the missing salad but after some arguing his meal was also not paid for.

Surrounding tables had at least three rejected meals as were not the ones ordered.

We will never go back here. As previously loyal and regular customers we find this was a very bad experience and just shows that customer service is not the top of priorities at this establishment. The food that was delivered was ok but nothing special, just mass produced at a passable standard. The chef could do with tasting his food to ensure that it has not been heavily over seasoned.

The staff tried but failed to impress. Such a shame. Will never be able to put this right for mum and dad.

I go here often in the evening so took my family today. The large (they do small too) Sunday Lunch was no way large 6 carrot rings was one veg , two tiny broccoli florets and less than a tablespoon of cabbage with 3 small slices of pork with a few potatoes for £7.95 is not good . Would not return for Sunday Lunch again
