While a “themed” hotel can evoke visions of tackiness, Aviator is just the opposite; the plane-centric hotel is chic and rather understated. Perhaps theme isn’t really even the right word. The entire hotel is like one loving homage to aviation. The gentle arc of the building itself seems to allude to the sleek curves of a plane. Well-appointed and stocked with Molton Brown products, Aviator provided a welcome respite for my husband and me from city life. We took a nice hike up Crooksbury Hill nearby, which received a nod in a Sherlock Holmes story. The only thing which seemed slightly out of keeping with the high level of service and standards throughout the hotel was that the coffee with breakfast was dispense-it-yourself and it kept running out, but I suppose any reason to get me off my seat will only do me good in the long-run!

Cool design hotel and a welcome escape from the boredom of Farnborough. (Sorry Farnborough) Bar is trendy and food is good. Hotel rooms are nice. My favourite feature is the elevator with the moving clouds and aviation window.

I stayed a week at the Aviator in Farnborough, with mixed feelings.
The hotel is new and very modern, with an aviation theme throughout. The highlight of the hotel is the excellent staff. All were helpful, friendly and curtious. The hotel desperately tries to be 5 star, but misses in a few areas, except the prices, which are high. We found the bed very hard, to the point our backs were aching in the morning. This problem was largely resolved after a couple of nights when the staff fitted a "pillow top" to the mattress - we could not get it the first night because it was being used by another guest. Seems they only have one and hard beds are a common complaint.
Rooms are clean and quiet, despite the close proximity to the airport. There is free wifi, but the connection was so poor, I was unable to access the web for the entire time I was there.

Booked at short notice, the Aviator provided the perfect bolt hole for a quiet weekend away. Easy location, stylish and sleek, we were made to feel very welcome. Food was excellent and complimented by a really good cocktail list at the Sky Bar. Will definitely stay again.

My husband and I went here for the weekend for his 40th birthday; beautiful hotel, fantastic rooms. We stayed in a Sky Suite which was gloriously sumptuous. The design and style of the hotel is very impressive with the staircase being a stunning feature particularly at night when lit up.
The reception had called us prior to our visit to advise there was a function going on during the first night of our stay, they had however put us in a far room and other than a little bass music we didn't hear anything and it was over by midnight anyway. Dinner was very nice, breakfast even better. The cocktails were lovely and the price is what you'd expect around £9.

We will definitely stay in this beautiful hotel again :)

We stayed for 1 night in an Aviator Room on a B&B basis.
The location of the hotel is easy to find but Farnborough we felt had little to offer.
The hotel is very grand and internally panoramic with some good architecture.
What is confusing is the reception is on the first floor and if no one is around to greet you then we found no signs to say.
The rooms are superb, boasting lovely ensuits with molton brown complimentary products, a lovely array of drinks and ample room.
What is ideal and rarely found is a large mirror with plug sockets next to it! Simple but many hotels I find do not have.
The prices of drinks are fair and cocktails are lovely. My only qualm is that the service takes forever and even when not busy drink service takes far far too long.
We dined in the Brasserie and selected our own food. The food was ample and very tasty.
The sky bar is reasonable in size and we were lucky to have seating.
Overall we were very impressed and so impressed we intend to book again for october/november for 2 nights. This time in a studio. Strongly reccomended to anyone wishing to want to stay.

If you are visiting Farnborough, the Aviator is a must! The architecture of the hotel is amazing, both inside and out. The rooms are very spacious with a good size seating area and nice bathroom, wifi was free which was a plus. The gym has a good selection of equipment or you could walk along the pathways in front and back of the hotel. I found it very easy to walk all over the city, downtown is just a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

We ate breakfast at the Brassiere most mornings and dinner a couple nights and the food was excellent. We also visited some of the local restaurants and did not have a bad meal. The Skybar was a great place to relax in the evening and I would recommend the Silver Jets.
