Today we enjoyed a wonderful group lunch after Remembrance Sunday church service. The meal was more than filling. The service was excellent considering how busy the pub was. Our group was well look after by staff. The pub overlooks the village green and cricket field. Just what imagined an English village to be like. That you to staff who made our meal so enjoyable.

We were a party of 7 adults and 2 children celebrating a family birthday for Sunday lunch. First of all we were left standing just inside the doorway for 10 minutes while the table was being prepared. There was then a time lapse of 35 minutes between ordering our food and the meals being served. The portions were generous and those of us who ordered the roast chicken and roast pork were pleased with their choice. However, all those who ordered roast beef commented on how chewy the meat was. The accompanying dumplings to all the meals were far too big and were not cooked in the middle whilst the vegetables, although a good variety, were served lukewarm. Overall a disappointing experience.

6 of us went to pie night last night. Told the pies had mashed potatoes on top as too busy to make pastry!
1 person had beef and mushroom pie, 3pieces of beef, tasty gravy, 1person had fish pie which was good.
3 people had fish and chips, batter very soggy
1person had chicken milanaise which was okay
We had to wait over an hour for this to be served
We will not be back

My views only and once again this little gem came up trumps the Sunday roast is proper home made with huge Yorkshire puds roast spuds to die for and colly cheese lush. The pork belly sumptuous and chicken huge. Not out first visit not our last fantastic.
