Definitely not one of the best Premier Inn's I've stayed at, but not that bad (I'd equate it with one of the average Travelodges) - the hotel and rooms just feels a little tired, with little details of neglect such as the "mouldy bath seams" syndrome. Clean rooms and very comfortable beds though (if you like firm beds which I do!) and the staff were most friendly and helpful. The adjacent Beefeater restaurant did a nice dinner and breakfast, if a little overpriced.

The hotel was ideal for our two night stay to visit family.
The room was lovely and well cleaned we managed to meet housekeeper manager collete all credit to her and her team in an older building.

Stayed one night, arrived 9pm and left before 7am, so didn't try any other service (like the pub next door).

Room was very clean but the bed was very firm (back hurt next day). Duvet and flatscreen freeview TV, tea and coffee facilities. Two storey building, no lift.

Brittany ferries was a 10 minute drive away

Would stay again if catching a ferry..

The hotel was as good as you will get for the price, the lady manager was very nice, we took the diner and breakfast package. when arriving at the Beefeater, there were glasses left all over the place, going inside we were asked to wait to be seated, when there were five other people doing nothing, we were seated in what i can only call a very DATED eating house, the carpets needed cleaning and four of the tables needed clearing yet alone cleaning them the brown leather seating was low and old. we had steak which was cooked ok but needed a sauce, we did have tommy sauce yes !!!
The endless chips deal means they will keep bringing them out until you say No, we waited for our drinks, which turned up when our starters had already been delivered.
You can work it out for yourself i will never be going to a beefeater again. if you do stay in this hotel there is a very good chinese restarant up the road!!!!!

Room Tip: ask for the side by the driveway to the car park less noisey

The room was large, modern, clean with a large bed. The bathroom was also a good size and it did not give the impression of being a 'budget hotel'. We chose it because of it's location, we were journeying West, and because of previous good reviews. The food was typical family Beefeater style, but perfectly reasonable. Breakfast was really good with a wonderful choice.

My only negative comment was that the room was too hot, and the road outside too noisy to open the window. However a fan was provided which helped a bit.

Great hotel over all.
Spend 4 weeks here in May 2011,on business. Lovely reception staff and great food in the Beefeater 'rusty cutter' restaurant.
Top staff in the restaurant too, friendly and very clean place to eat (especially the bbq ribs).

Great location for seeing Portsmouth, very near Hayling Island for the beach in the summer.
Close to Pompey centre too for shopping and plenty off historic sights to see throughtout Portsmouth.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on the car park side of the building!
