Imperial Palace, long established in the former and little mourned New Belmont, is really very good. On a busy (pre-holiday) Thursday night, people were accommodated and served with no fuss. Many sat at large round tables as the restaurant seems geared up for largish groups.
We were in a party of four. Service was pleasant and quick without being rushed. As with poppodums in an Indian restaurant, the prawn crackers are a good test of things to come in a Chinese restaurant. They were very fresh. All the food was very good. We had quite a variety of dishes, all fresh and of good quality. Portions were notably large and we were tactfully and thoughtfully kept from over ordering.
A bill of a little over £80 for four was reasonable and we left full and happy.
