We stayed at Raven for 2 nights and found the Receptionists very friendly, the room was clean and so was the bathroom. When we went down to breakfast we were pleasantly surprised to see how many things we could choose from at the breakfast bar. Cooked breakfasts were also served by waitresses.
There is a car park which is open to the public who have to pay but for hotel residents it is free.
There are smoking facilities in the garden where there are plenty of tables and seats, and also one table and umbrella at the side of Reception where you are allowed to smoke.
We had heard that it could be noisy as it is a Restaurant serving dinner (which we did not have as we were visiting family in the area, so cannot comment ) but we did not find it noisy.
My husband and I consider this hotel good value for a short stay but I think it to be a good centre for visiting attractions in the area and the Railway Station is only up the road, when you could visit Winchester etc.

Room Tip: We had a twin room and did not find it noisy. Room 28. We recommend that you take a teaspoon with you as we found that there was not one with the tea and coffee in the room. Only fault that we found.

Comfortable beds, excellent service and great food. I would definately recommend this hotel. From the greeting at reception, the receptionist juggled our reservations around to make sure our rooms were close together, to the service in the restaurant. Well done.

A really lovely welcome at reception and we were impressed with the cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom. We were quite late booking so had the twin room and we did find the beds rather narrow, however the bedding was lovely. We ate in the restaurant in the evening with lovely waiting staff. We ate from the fixed menu at £9.95 for 3 courses which was incredible value. I was also impressed that they swapped items for me that I could not eat for health reasons. After the meal we enjoyed the live music in the bar.
This is a nice mix of hotel and a local pub.

We stayed for two nights (19th & 20th October). On the Saturday we were attending a concert at The Anvil in Basingstoke, which was a drive of little over 10 minutes. We had a superior room which was to a very good standard, very clean and with a comfortable king size bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent but Sunday morning was busy and there was a delay bringing our cooked breakfasts after ordering. The Sunday evening menu had a selection of roasts but it was a little disappointing that none were available, we were told that it was because they had been very busy during lunchtime. Overall, an enjoyable stay and good value.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights on the 18 and 20 October and we couldn't fault this accommodation. The bed was extremely comfortable with clean white linen and the room had everything we needed, including a hairdryer. The breakfast too was substantial with a good choice of fruit, cereal, fruit juices and a menu consisting of several choices including a substantial English breakfast, salmon and scrambled eggs to name but a few. This is not the Ritz but a very good priced accommodation and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend it.
