We also stayed for the 1 night deal with scones and tea on arrival and a 7 course tasting menu. We found the staff to be friendly, professional and very welcoming. The scones were delightful and the 7 course tasting meal delicious. Our room was so comfirtable and the spa bath very relaxing. The bed was huge and comfortable. The full English brekkie the following morning was really tasty and very large! We had a fabulous weekend.

. It's a quirky place right in the countryside. We went for a walk on the Saturday afternoon which was well worth doing as the countryside is stunning.
We got the taster menu which was really impressive - interesting combination of flavours , all kinds of food. The breakfast was first class too.
The staff were smiley, efficient and friendly which made for a welcoming atmosphere.
The only issue is there's not much space downstairs and not much to do, so not the best for longer visits. For a one-night visit in the country it was absolutely fine.

We stayed here for 1 night on a dinner, bed & breakfast deal (Travel zoo) and were very satisfied. We upgraded to a 'spa-bath' room - the Exeter - which was perfect, so tastefully decorated and furnished, with a 4 poster bed. The sitting rooms are very comfortable too.
Tea and a scone by a nice open fire was a warm welcome.
The staff are excellent...efficient and unpretentious.
We would prefer a conventional dinner, but the 7-course tasting menu and the full English breakfast delicious.
