Country house style hotel in open countryside just north of Andover. On arrival at the hotel had freshly cooked scones with cream and preserves to accompany tea. Stayed in bedroom named Yavaland situated on the first floor across the gravel courtyard. Pleasant room nicely furnished with pine furniture and older style fitted wardrobes. Updated en suite with a mix of old and new units.
Had dinner in the restaurant both evenings, good quality food nicely cooked and well presented, but service a little slow on the first evening. Breakfast on both mornings was a well presented buffet, with hot dishes cooked to order, and again the quality of food, cooking and presentation was every good.
Staff were friendly and helpful on all occasions, but rather informal in style and presentation for this type of hotel with no clear leadership. The hotel is set in extensive grounds with generous parking facilities close to the hotel.More
