As a child I was brought to Bashley in the late 60s and early 70s. those holidays were full of memories so this year I thought I would treat the family to Bashley instead of Woolacombe bay (Twitchen house). on arrival the site staff were very good and quick at placing us with a pitch. The touring site is very clean and tidy, toilets are clean but dated. pool areas and attendants very good. The part which let our holiday down was the entertainment and entertainment area, for those of you who have seen pheonix nights then you can picture it. The facility is dated and although the entertainment staff do their best they cannot compare with other site we have been to. The bingo confused me as we seemed to be playing two or three games at once. Kids prizes were badges and certificates and the staff just lacked energy. For us we payed almost £300 more for 9 nights than we would have a Woolacombe for half the value. yes woolacombe is longer to drive but for the value then it's worth the drive. to cap it all our asked my daughter which caravan site she preferred out of all those we visited and Bashley didn't enter into the mix which is a shame as all my fondest childhood memories are of this site.
