we went to the forest edge cafe and teahouse we had the most fantastic meal my husband had the homemade lasagne and i had the gammon steak with eggs , both meals were cooked to perfection. We then had a slice of homemade zesty lemon sponge with dairy ice cream again this will be a firm favourite of mine on our next visit. I understand that this place has just been taken over by a new local couple , with the service and standard of the food that we received today im sure it will be a great success I wish them all the luck in the future.

Open the door and you're warmly greeted by friendly staff and a welcoming environment. Lovely set out tables with menus to hand so you can freely browse the extensive menu aswell as view daily specials on the board. So much choice and all freshly prepared to order...All day breakfast..lunchtime meals..light bites...afternoon tea and a wide choice of delicious homemade cakes all on display. We opted for tea and cake and we were not disappointed...coffee and walnut cake was so delicious we bought extra slices to take home..another service on offer. Its a big thumbs up from us!!

The change in this place is amazing since the new owners took over 7 months ago. Bright, clean, welcoming.... Complete opposite to before.
All the food is a la carte which is a refreshing change; even the egg for my son's egg sandwich was cooked and prepared after we ordered.
My title of 'Divine....' refers to the Banoffee Waffles with ice cream. Without a doubt the best I have tasted.
This is a lovely traditional family run cafe with home-made cuisine (gorgeous home-made cakes too). Highly recommend.

This is a gem in the town. Lovely food, warm service and a proper pot of tea! The regular customers may be generally gleaned from the older population of the town but this must not stop anyone from giving it a try. The macaroni cheese is divine and hubby nearly scraped the pattern off the plate his chili came on! Good on the new owners for revitalising this lively and lovely cafe. Thank you.
