“A very welcome bath!”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

We stayed here at the end of our second day on the South Downs Way having walked about 15 miles - the last few yards of which were across the clayiest field ever! Janet showed us to our room and took our breakfast order. Then we hit the bath - what bliss! The room was divided into a double bed and a bunk-bed room, both of which were not huge but adequate in size and very clean as was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the flavoured water was a nice touch.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent with a choice of eggs (duck or chicken), sausages from their own pigs and an array of home made jams (rhubarb and ginger was delicious) and homemade bread. We looked out at the said ducks, chickens and some calves which was lovely.
All in all a very comfortable night, thank you.

Stayed here for just one night as we had a wedding in the nearby tithe barn. Janet was a fantastic host (as was oscar the dog!) and the room was very clean with some nice touches. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection of local produce (eggs laid fresh by Janets chickens or ducks no less and lovely homemade bread and jams!) and it was nice to chat with another family at the communal breakfast table. After breakfast it was out to the yard to feed the chickens and also the newborn lamb which my girlfriend enjoyed very much! All in all a wonderful stay and i would not hesitate to return. It was nice to be made so welcome in another persons home.

A wonderful place that is well placed if you are visiting Petersfield or Tithe Barn. The owners were extremely welcoming and accommodating and the food was outstanding. A beautiful dog also resides there and he too was exteremely friendly!
We enjoyed a great stay there and would highly recommend it.

I was very glad to be able to get somewhere to stay so close to Tithe Barn wedding reception venue. In terms of location, Copper Beeches is pretty ideal as it's only a 10 minute stroll between both addresses. However, you do have to cross a main road and walk down a country lane, so dress appropriately!!

Lovely home-cooked breakfast with awesome local produce; the chickens and ducks are running around out back. Sausages = heavenly!

Janet and Ian have a very friendly dog called Oscar, and I was asked whether I was ok with dogs which has got to be an all-time first and much appreciated.

My room wasn't massive, but more than sufficient for my needs and i'd definitely make a return visit as the bed was ultra-comfy.

Taxis each way from Petersfield rail station were £8.

Room was not quite what we were expecting, rather dated and in need of refurb. Absolutely cannot fault the service however, Janet was extremely helpful and accommodating, giving us a lift into town, drinks on arrival, and a packed lunch for a small fee. Breakfast was very good, including local eggs from the farm. Overall, would definitely return here, but don't think it is worth the £70 room rate.
