We needed to find a place convenient to Southampton, as we were to meet a cruise ship early on Saturday morning. I found The Dairy online and called to see if they had a family room, which they did. We stayed in the Ayrshire Suite, which had a King sized bed, a couch that pulled out into a double bed and a single bed and easily accomodated the 4 of us.

The room was large, clean, bright and airy and had an ensuite bath. Our room had a door that opened to the gardens in the back. The kids enjoyed running around, jumping on the trampoline and swimming in the pool (despite the cold). The breakfast buffet was delicious.

Mike, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He pointed us to a decent family friendly pub, but also suggested a local take-away where we could purchase some food and bring it back to eat poolside.

If we are in the area again, this will be our first choice of place to stay. It's everything you want in a B&B, friendly, comfortable, clean and in a beautiful location. We all enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B to friends & family.

This accommodation is presented at a high standard. The rooms are well appointed and those in the annex have easy access to a snooker table. There is also a fridge for fresh milk for hot drinks made in the rooms. A well prepeared information pack answers most questions and the staff were more than happy to recommend places to eat and visit should you need guidance. The setting is rural but has easy access to major roads and therefore all the amenities in the surrounding area.

what a fantastic place, we only stayed one night pre cruise but would have loved to stay longer, we recieved a very warm welcome from chrissie and felt like part of the family even bertie the family dog followed us around. sitting outside the sitting/dining room on the evening with a glass of wine watching baby swallows being fed by their mums was so peaceful, not a sound.
breakfast was superb, choice was brilliant,so much food for just two people!! we,again sat outside with coffee the only sound was the horses in the next field.
we will certainly return to stay longer next time.
if you are thinking of booking the dairy, don't hesitate, you will love it
