Finding ourselves on our own for the first time in 30 years on an Easter Sunday, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a meal out on this special occasion. We had hoped the weather would be sunny and we'd get to sit outside on the lovely patio area with views of Green Hill and Romsey Abbey behind us. Sadly we weren't lucky with the sunshine but love this contemporary yet character-filled restaurant with its intimate corners for couples or convivial tables for groups. Sensitive lighting and comfy chairs feel homely and the staff are attentive without being fussy. We had a gorgeous roast - chunks of lamb to die for, rustic roasts and a comforting selection of veg. The dark, rich gravy made me want to get a hunk of bread and wipe the plate clean! Thank you, Cromwell Arms, a real home from home when we need a treat!
