Ok, so it's a little bit of a walk from the town centre but it's well worth it. We go there fairly often and have always received a warm welcome and fantastic service from the manager and his young, hardworking team. The food is not exactly cheap but it is always good and they serve proper pub portions. There is a lot of choice on the menu and quite a few options for vegetarians too which is great. Although the food is restaurant quality the atmosphere is that of a relaxed pub and you can choose to eat in the bar area or the beautiful garden if you don't want the formality of the restaurant. Great, reasonably priced wine selection too.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here today. The Salmon was a triumph and the other meals were well received. Perhaps a little over priced, especially the "trio" which was not quite as impressive as it promised to be. Very tasty food though and helpful friendly service. A lovely ambiance. (We do not order from the children's menu any more having not enjoyed the quality on offer to them previously...hopefully it has improved by now.)

Came here early evening for a meal and some drinks....service was really good and we asked to move inside to eat and were taken to a table in a relatively quiet corner. Was nice to see a local that isn't a 'chain' type place so busy though. Food was absolutely amazing - well cooked and served within reasonable time too! (For reference the lamb cutlets as a main are highly recommended as they were gorgeous!).

Stayed long after the meal for more drinks and moved back out into the garden area where the staff turned on the heaters for us. Everyone was polite, it is well done out and I will definitely be returning as my partner has newly moved into the area. Was not too expensive either for what you are getting (quality and service, which are rare together these days!)

I'll keep it short and to the point. Large modern comfortable restaurant but nearly empty. Pie of the day and chips. Pie crust thin and soggy, filling tasteless and watery, chips frozen oven chips. Crème brulee think they forgot the vanilla tasteless and odd texture. Over priced and over rated will not be returning very disappointed customers.

The pub/restaurant has become something of a regular place to dine for us. We have been eating here as a family every 2-3 months for the past three years. The food has been consistently good as has the attitude and attentiveness of the staff. This is all the more impressive as one of our party is under 7 years and it's notable that other similar restaurants in the area look at you with distain as soon as they seen a child in the party. Shame on them. This has also become a venue for impromptu working lunches. The most recent involved a party of 16, which became 17 when we arrived as somebody had decided to come who had declined previously. The staff were not phased by this and just set an additional place. The food arrived hot (except the sandwiches !) and all at the same time after a wait of about 40 minutes, during which we were regularly offered drinks. They serve draft local Flack Manor Beer too which is a bonus. Overall, I thoroughly recommend The Cromwell Arms as a place to dine.
