The setting is very pleasant and relaxed. Starters were all delicious and very nicely presented. Main courses also good. I actually prefer this to the Greyhound over the road. A perfect evening apart from a very noisy table next to us.

Stockbridge was a busy place on May holiday Sunday, stopped there and thought we would have lunch after a walk. Chose the Greyhound but they were full so went across the road to 3 Cups. The menu looks good but as we found out isn't. For a start all the staff wear black like they are going to a funeral and are about as welcoming, the young barman couldn't care a stuff and looked like he was working his week out, took for ever to get his attention and even longer for drinks. Our food arrived eventually, no apologies for the wait from the waitress not even a smile. Tough beef for all of us, and it was half cold. This place is a standard tourist spot rip-off.

Was in the area visiting friends who kindly booked this. Firstly we were disappointed as the menu was different to the one we saw on the internet. The menu choices were not great but eventually the 3 of us found things we would try. Around 5 minutes after placing our order our young waiter came to the table and told us they were throwing a wobbly in the kitchen and our food would be delayed. We asked how long and he said he had no idea. We asked for some bread while waiting. By the way why put out side plates anyway if bread is not issued as standard? After an hour of waiting I called the waiter to the table again to ask how long our meals would be. No idea came the reply. I asked him to find out. He came back and said they were working on it. 15 minutes later our mediocre and overpriced food arrived. We decided we wanted a dessert and asked for the menus. They did not arrive. But 10 minutes later the waiter asked if our desserts had arrived. Enough was enough. We forgot about desserts and asked for the bill. I was embarrassed having to complain in front of my friends but this must be some of the worst service ever experienced. Hence the title never again.

My husband and I had our first date at The 3 Cups 5 years ago today, so decided to go back for a celebratory lunch. It always had an excellent reputation for food and I've eaten some superb meals there in the past, but today was a huge disappointment. I can only assume it has changed hands at some time as the menu was uninspiring. We didn't have a starter as the choices were rather dull, but both decided on roast sirloin of beef. The beef was overcooked with not a hint of pink, the vegetables were undercooked and almost raw, the potatoes seriously overcooked and the yorkshire as tasteless and did not taste at all homemade. We did not have a dessert as again, limited and uninspiring choice.
On the plus side it was realatively inexpensive and the setting is lovely.
We shall not be returning.

Visited when water was high and had to negotiate sandbags.Possibly a little over priced for the amount and quality of fare. Ceilings very low and gents WC needs some improvement. Service pretty good but it was quiet. Asked for the bill and had to ask again sometime later, then had a problem with card payment. Quality of food oK.
