Description: The Peat Spade Inn sits in a picture postcard setting in the beautiful village of Longstock in the heart of Hampshire. Located in the Test Valley, less than a mile from Stockbridge - the fly fishing capital of the world - the rivers and downs surrounding the inn are home to some of the best fishing and shooting opportunities in the world making The Peat Spade Inn an inviting refuge for country sport enthusiasts. After a long day enjoying the outdoors, head back to the inn to rest your feet, sit back and relax with a freshly poured pint of Upham real ale. With the Test Way passing close by, The Peat Spade is a popular retreat for walkers to stop by en route to refuel with some fabulous pub food. It's a great stopover too for those visiting the nearby historic cities of Winchester and Salisbury. This charming country pub is just an hour's drive away from London and the New Forest and provides the perfect place for a spot of lunch, a delicious dinner, a drink or two in the idyllic Hampshire countryside and if you don't fancy going anywhere, a night's stay. The Peat Spade Inn is one of the newest members of the Upham Group family of character pubs.

Sunday lunch for a birthday treat. Good menu and reasonably priced. Staff were very attentive and the food freshly cooked and hot. Always enjoyed a good meal here. Look forward to going back again soon.

Six of us ate at the Peat Spade last week, while the meal was a bit pricey, the food was excellent. It is freshly cooked and so we did need to wait for the meal as we didn't have starters. The staff were friendly and welcoming, I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

Five of us went for dinner last Saturday. The first two staff we met were new that day so did not know their way round the menu or drinks. They were extremely polite and charming. Service throughout the evening was very slow but the food was quite delicious. We arrived at 8.00 pm but did not finish till 11.15 pm. Too long. The chef produced an excellent fruit salad for the diabetic in our party and we enjoyed the meal: it just took too long. The trout was very delayed so they unhesitatingly took the cost off the bill without being asked. We will try again but hope the organisation will be rather slicker.

We stayed for out wedding anniversary, having been for lunch once before.
It's perfectly situated for lots of field sports.
The room was really nice & well appointed.
We booked for dinner & felt completely relaxed, not rushed, as some places are. The food was lovely & we were amazed at the selection of gins available for a G&T!!
Excellent breakfast the following morning.
The chap running the pub was very helpful & attentive.
Altogether a lovely relaxing & enjoyable stay.
