“Perfection - A brilliant special day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

From the start of booking our wedding day arrangements, through the planning of every detail, and finally to our wedding day itself everything was perfect. Nothing was to much trouble - everyone was friendly helpful and above all professional. The advice giving by the general manager could not have been more approprite and our whole day flowed line wine from a bottle, which it did during our excellent wedding breakfast. Very nice it was too !
The glass room was laid out so well it made us feel even more special.
True professionals were at work allowing us to enjoy the day and even the bewedding breakfast room was transformed into a disco with minimum fuss. The behind the scenes team certainly worked their magic. We have no problems recomending this as YOUR wedding venue - we hope you enjoy your day as much as we enjoyed ours. We would not have changed one thing about our day. Thanks Chris and your fantastic team. Peace love and happiness - the Big 60s xx.

Another best western gem, beautiful setting in the new forest. and, within walking distance of Lyndhurst village also well placed for the new forest and the coast, All staff very polite ,hotel very clean and tidy, breakfast plentiful , indoor leisure pool was just amazing, for that early morning swim. They have a very young staff at the hotel, and it works well, cant wait to come back.

A lovely friendly hotel with fabulous staff set at a perfect spot for exploring the New Forest. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. We had all our family with us, including two babies and we all thought that this was a perfect choice for a family break. The pool was especially popular with our babies too. We organised a special evening for my husbands birthday in one of their smaller banqueting rooms overlooking the garden. The restaurant manager was SO impressive in his quiet organisation and the staff so helpful that the evening went off without a hitch, everyone having a fabulous time. We will definitely come back again and will be recommending this hotel to our friends.

Room Tip: Ask for a twin/double room which has two singles together, giving you a larger bed.

A lovely hotel set back from the main road in Lyndhurst yet within easy walking distance of shops and pubs. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere about it and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was just what I needed before a long car journey and was available early so I could get on the road at a decent time. Room was clean (although a little dark due) and the creeky floorboards outside my room was a little annoying when people were walking by to the swimming pool, but not so much that I couldn't sleep in the evening. All in all an enjoyable stay in a lovely location.

Roomy and pleasant hotel with helpful staff. Very well placed for New Forest and coast. Excellent food with efficient service. Reasonably priced with a good dinner, bed and breakfast offer. Thoughtful and reasonable cancellation policy.

We are a family of four and stayed here for two nights. We had a family room with bunk beds for the kids. We were fortunate enough to be able to check in early because the room was ready. The reception staff were friendly and polite. When we got to the room I thought it was a decent enough size for the amount of time we spent in it. The room was not spotless. It looked like it could have done with a more thorough vacuum throughout, including the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the children were happy with their bunks. We booked a breakfast and dinner inclusive deal which I thought was really good value.
The pool area is very quiet and the two times that we used it we pretty much had it to ourselves. There are towels provided in the changing rooms but the changing area is tiny and there are no lockers so you have to just leave your clothes on a bench. The pool is basic but a bonus when you have children who love to swim. Also I couldn't find any other 3* hotels in that area that include an indoor pool.
I read a lot of the reviews before booking this hotel, a lot of people complained that the hotel looked tired and dated. I didn't think this was the case, yes, there are a few cracks in the paint work here and there but honestly you must be bored if you have time to sit and examine paintwork! The hotel is set centrally in the stunning village of Lyndhurst with shops and restaurants just a short stroll away. My only criticism would be our dining experience. The first evening we were served promptly and the food was ok (in my opinion not worth the prices they charge) the portions are a bit on the small side but as we'd got a good package deal I wasn't really bothered, the second evening the service was awful. We booked a table for the four of us at 8pm, it took them almost 30 mins just to bring our starter, then there was a delay between main and dessert. We were still there at 10.45 and the children were practically falling asleep at the table! Breakfast is basic but again small portion sizes. If you're considering this hotel for a New Forest break then I would recommend it but make sure you get a good deal!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am pleased to read that you overall had an enjoyable stay with your family, and will ensure your comments are investigated further by the general manager to ensure these are rectified. I do hope you will consider returning for another stay in the near future.

Last year we adjudged the hotel as "Nearly there" after five years of variable performance. In this sixth year it is a delight to say that the hotel provided a level of accommodation that exceeded its 3* rating. The experience from check in to check out was first class, from staff who were friendly, efficient and helpful to meals in both Forest and Glasshouse which were all superb. The food was of the highest quality with each course presented at its best and where appropriate cooked to perfection. The minor issue of an incomplete sweet was dealt with in the most professional manner by Elisabeth, who even in a very busy dining room, ensured that an update was provided on progress. The standard room more than met our needs, adequate space, comfortable bed, well fitted en-suite and decent décor. A wholly satisfactory three days and a credit to Best Western.
