This Lodge has recently undergone a refurb and is very warm and welcoming. We stayed between Xmas & New Year during a cold snap, and the room was warm and cosy - without the radiator on. Would recommend!

All was generally good, but let down by having a large room (room 7) with a tiny heater - totally insufficent in winter! It hadn't been turned on by staff in advance and took hours to warm the room up, just in time to leave the next morining! Had been resently redecorated and refurbished though and the duvet was thick enough to hide under for the night. I had heard that Bear Grylls had been accused of using hotels whilst filming outdoor survival series. He could have had the best of both worlds here.

Travelodge so recently refurbished that you could still faintly smell the paint, but everywhere was spick, span and comfortable. A power cut during our stay was handled very well by the staff who did their very best in difficult circumstances.

We had the room for two nights at a very good rate in order to visit a nearby attraction. The hotel was ideally positioned, and the quadruple glazing deadened the sound of the busy A31 outside.

Excellent value (with an offer), excellent condition due to refurb, warm and comfortable. Very pleased. Will return for another visit to the area.

Decided to go to The Little Chef as we have been many times and have always been pleased.
Well I wish we could say we came out happy!
My Mother ordered Nachos and it said it came with toppings including cheese. The first thing was it was her main course and came out on a starter plate without the cheddar cheese on top. We told the waitress about this and she was very rude to us but did take away the plate. The cheese then did come but came on the side and not as a topping as it said on the menu and was cold. We have never heard of cold cheese sauce and neither had the chef! The chef apologised but the waitress then was rude to us again telling us that was how they were told to serve. In the end my Mother ate her Nachos but did not enjoy them and was a complete waste of money. I doubt we will be back anytime soon!

We were pleasantly surprised with this Travelodge. They're all usually pretty much the same in standards of cleanliness etc. and this one was clean and comfortable as usual. It had been newly decorated so it smelled clean and looked nice. Bed was very comfortable. Good location although was right by a busy road, but thankfully they have soundproofed the windows so the traffic noise was fairly quiet. Earplugs advisable for light sleepers though. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking very good. Little chef right next door for breakfast.

We have often stayed at this small lodge while on our way into Southampton, and found it quite satisfactory for our needs. Alright, you may find things missing in your room, but asked nicely the staff will do all they can to help you and replace the missing items, such as sink plugs, TV remote, pillow or two, but generally, because of the cheap offers you can regularly get at this hotel, you get what you pay for. It's clean, comfortable, and very handy a spot for visiting the New Forest attractions, as its smack on in the middle of the forest, so easy to get around. The hotel has a small restaurant attached to it, and although this provides basic menus, the food is quite good. Mind you, there are a number of very nice Inns quite close, so no problem finding somewhere for a drink or two. Overall, we are quite satisfied with the hotel, but remember it is a basic cheap hotel, but slightly better than others we have stayed in, so this is always our second choice when visiting or staying over in Southampton.

Room Tip: We always book early, as I need a disabled room, but never had problems getting in. Ask for a room a...
