We stayed for 2 nights and experienced very friendly reception staff, a good sized family room, plenty of tea and coffee, very comfortable beds and an excellent power shower. I would highly recommend this hotel. Bonus too that the little chef is excellent for all meals too and the hotel is located on the edge of the new forest.

Booked a family room here for a single night stopover for the early morning Poole ferry.

Hotel is located on a dual carriageway - I was not aware of this when I booked the room. Access road is very short and signage is very poor which meant we missed the hotel and had a long round trip of several miles to go back around via the dual carriageway.

The two beds provided for my sons were small and very hard. They also made the room very cramped. It looks like they have just been chucked in as an after thought. My eldest also banged his head on the wooden shelving around the main bed head board. Room temperature was too high which meant none of us got much sleep. Also children running around in an upstairs room was very loud, late into the evening.

We had to leave too early to consider eating at the hotel - possibly a good thing.

Rejoining the dual carriageway was very difficult with very poor visibility. We were very glad it was early in the morning and traffic was very light.

Room was very expensive for a single night stopover for a family.

Best part of the stay was seeing the hotel get smaller in my rear view mirror.

The hotel is conveniently located alongside the A31 with easy access routes to the New Forest and other coastal areas such as Bournemouth and Poole. The parking is good with plenty of spaces. We had a very warm welcome from the team member, who gave us lots of information relating to our stay at the hotel. This hotel has the newly modernised look that I have experienced in 2 previous Travelodge hotels. The room we stayed in was very spacious, clean and relaxing. I would recommend this hotel as good value, as I had looked at other hotels prior to booking and chose this as it is near the places we wanted to go to and was reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel as it is situated on the A31 and is quieter at the back

Stayed for 2 nights first weekend in August. We had a wedding to attend on the Sunday about 15 miles away. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was very large by Travelodge standards, it did not have air-con. Our room was overlooking the A31, so although it was very noisy, we had to leave the window open as it was very hot, it’s amazing just how much traffic uses that road and all through the night. Somehow, we did manage to sleep. Nice comfortable bed and the normal Travelodge bathroom, all were clean. There is a seating area out the back with a few ‘pub’ style wooden table/chairs. The Travelodge can only be accessed by road from the west bound carriage way of the A31, so bit of a drive around the country side when if you leave to go out for any reason. Not much more one can say about it. As we only used this place to sleep in, it was nice enough for somewhere to stay, but if we were staying in this area again, we would not choose this.

Room Tip: First 30 mins on Wifi are free, then you have to pay. Ask for a room away from the road.

Being alongside the A31, no visitor should expect total peace and quiet BUT if you ask for a room at the back of the building it is very much quieter and we slept really well, thanks also to the brilliant new mattresses & pillows. We find Travelodges are always placed so conveniently to the areas we wish to visit, they are clean & comfortable and great value especially if you book when an offer is available.

Travelodge Stoney Cross should be renamed Travelodge Rufus Stone as that is the name of the services in which it is located. A Travelodge sign along side the Esso petrol station would assist drivers on the very fast A31. Once found, we found it to have been recently well refurbished & provided the usual room with ample space and large flat surface area, so lacking in many B&Bs or hotels. Along side a Little Chef they are now both providing excellent quality at reasonable prices. The bed was a little too hard for us.

Stayed here in the family room with my two young children. Initially was pleasantly surprised by the look of the room, it was spacious and clean. However, it was a hot summers day and the room had no air con. The room turned into a sauna, it was absolutely unbearable and sleep was not something that came easily. I asked reception for a fan but they said they had requested some but not arrived yet. The location of the hotel was very disappointing. On a main road with nothing else around. The reception was unmanned when initially arrived and despite pressing the button no one turned up. In the end gave up, went for lunch and went back later. Would not recommend.
