I had the most wonderful Pottery weekend at the idyllic Angels Farm House set in a rose filled garden. The bed and breakfast was clean, comfortable and serving a most delicious breakfast. Jo supports people in developing their ceramic skills with patience and an abundance of knowledge.
We were served a most scrumptious lunch in between treats of home cooked cakes and biscuits.
I have already book another Pottery weekend.

My partner and I decided to attend a pottery weekend course at Angel's Farm with Jo and it was simply amazing! From the B&B itself, to the course and the food, everything was well done and Jo and her team were both generous and helpful. We felt so welcome in the property and came away with some new skills in pottery. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone. We have just come back from picking up the pottery and are very happy with the finished pottery.

My husband and I decided it was time for a child-free weekend away, so we convinced the grandparents to have the children for a two night sleepover and started to look for the perfect get away. Initially we started looking for spa breaks, but nothing really stood out and with Christmas just round the corner we didn't want to spend a fortune...then we can across the random idea of doing something completely different...google did not disappoint!

First on the list was Residential Pottery Courses...and we discovered a beautiful place in The New Forest called Angels Farm House. Essentially a B&B, but run by a brilliant Potter, Jo Osman. We only called the week before and luckily there were spaces on the course and in the B&B - BINGO! We'd found it...

Now, I know you might be thinking that pottery is not very rock and roll, and probably not the way you'd like to spend your first child-free weekend in almost two years, but you'd be wrong!!

Firstly the B&B. We arrived late on the Friday night, following a day a work, but were warmly welcomed by Jo and her husband Phillip, who showed us to our room. The B&B is half of the farm house and can accommodate about 8 people, but on this particular weekend we were the only ones staying - another BONUS!

The room was beautiful, big and very well equipped, because we we the only residents we managed to sit in the communal lounge and enjoy a drink without being disturbed. It was just like being in our own country cottage. We pre-ordered our breakfast and because the pottery course started at 9.30 we scheduled breakfast for 8.30.

We wondered downstairs the next morning, after a good nights' sleep and a brilliant bubblebath (no shower as the bathroom was in the eves, so the roof sloped). We had freshfruit salad, cereal, and a lovely full-cooked breakfast, which was just perfect to kick-start the day. Freshly brewed coffee (no instant, here) and homemade bread.

The Pottery Course: The course has space for 6 and there was Jo and Sarah as our mentor and support during the day. We started off with a 5 minute demo from Jo on using the wheel and she threw a bowl - which was amazing and then it was over to us!...we each had our own wheel and as much clay as you liked. James and I threw more than 20 pots, bowls, dishes, vases during the course of the day (plus all the ones that went wrong) and it was just the most therapeutic thing ever - it definitely beat being pummelled in a spa all day!

At lunchtime we had an amazing 3-course lunch prepared by Penny, one of Jo's students and local chef, and then it was back into the potting shed for more clay work. We started off by making and decorating tiles, which some of the team continued with, but both James and I wanted to get back on the wheel.

Homemade biscuits and cakes helped us through the morning and afternoon and we left the course fully chilled out and relaxed!

We did stay a second night and booked to eat our evening meal in the local Oak Inn, more on that in another review.

Two nights stay, 2 attendees on the course - total cost £330 - worth every penny! Just beautiful.

What a find this place was. Not a modern sterile place but a real cosy character filled place in a beautiful area. Amazing breakfast attention to detail I am coeliac and a new toaster just for me labelled homemade preserves to ensure no contamination with crumbs. Lovely lovely hosts.had the most relaxing 4days. Owner is a potter and runs courses. Only 2 rooms so very personal and intimate. Can definitely recommend thank you x

We have just returned from 4 nights at Angels Farm House. We had a fabulous time and were made to feel very welcome. Jo was incredibly accommodating and friendly from initial booking and all through our time there. Our two young children had a fabulous time and loved the beautiful garden. They were very well provided for, including special child friendly plates, cutlery etc that makes a big difference. With so many local places being non-child friendly we are so pleased to have found somewhere where they were so welcomed.

The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom is compact but has everything that you need. The lounge downstairs was perfect for the evening when the little ones had gone to bed & hubby and I could relax and watch TV. There was free wifi so we could also watch our favourite programmes on hubby's iPad which was great.

The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, we certainly didn't go hungry. The sausages in particular were very tasty!

The location is fabulous and we walked to lyndhurst every night for our dinner, a beautiful village with quaint shops and a good mix of restaurants. The new forest is absolutely lovely and we had no problem finding local things to do to entertain the little ones!
We would recommend angels farm house to any family looking for a peaceful and friendly place to stay. Great value for money too. Thanks so much for having us Jo.
