“Heather House Lyndhurst”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2013

We stayed in Heather House for two nights in September. It is a charming b&b. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the owners went out of their way to be helpful to us. It is close to the lovely town of Lyndhurst too, lots of shops and pubs. It was a visit that the seven of us travelling together will never forget.

This is an older type of b&b .It is in the middle of the new forest and ideal for tours of the forest. The couple that own it are excellent hosts and the service and breakfast were outstanding. Iam always unsure when i book on line but this one i got right

We stayed at Heather House recently and had a highly enjoyable stay. Our room was lovely, overlooking the garden, with a large bathroom and great shower. The owners and staff were very helpful, especially helping me find a dentist on the bank holiday weekend, they also let us leave our car in the car park for the day after we had checked out. The place itself is in a good location, just a few mins walk into the town and the park and countryside just across the road. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at Heather House in a group of 8 for one night. The house is beautiful & in an excellent location. It's very good value for money & the rooms (whilst in need of updating) were clean & comfortable.

The disappointment came at breakfast. The process at Heather House is that you must complete your breakfast order before 9pm the night before & head down to breakfast between 8 & 9am.

One of my party let Ann & team know we would be down at 8:30am, which we were, but it was 9:20 before the last 4 of the 8 in our group received breakfast. How can it take so long to cook breakfast that they had the order for the night before?! We weren't even offered toast in the meantime (none of us wanted cereals that were available). When breakfast did eventually arrive it was very tasty - the produce was good quality. We asked for additional tea & coffee but it was very weak - they had obviously just topped up what we had already had with hot water. The final let down is when we finally had our breakfast & toast the waitress said just to ask if we needed anything else but she failed to come & check on us again. This meant in order to get more toast I had to actually go in to the kitchen & ask for some.

It's a shame because this bed & breakfast has the bed side so right but the breakfast still needs working on.

I would stay here again but perhaps get them to call me once my breakfast is ready!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Heather House for two nights over the weekend. We were shown to our room by Ann and she gave us some recommendations of things to go and see and was kind enough to lend us some books.

The room was nicely decorated and modern, and very clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was a little hard for us but still slept very well despite being in a room at the front by the road.

Breakfast is made to order and was cooked very well and there was also cereals, fruit and yoghurts.

The actual house is lovely with a nice garden and patio area, which would be great in the summer.

The location is really good, just a short walk from the little high street and with an entrance to the forest nearly opposite where we saw new forest ponies grazing. It is also next door but one to a great Italian restaurant.

Over all, nice b&b with friendly owners and is very good value. Would recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if returning to the new forest.

Myself and my partner stayed recently for two nights. It is a lovely place with a welcoming feel as you come in. Ann was very nice and our room was spotless. Only downside was that our room overlooked the main road so it could get a bit noisy at times, however it quietens down after around 9pm.
The breakfast was great, with lots of choice. We would recommend this B and B due to its prime location and welcoming feel and would return again!

Room Tip: Back of the house due to the front rooms overlooking the road.

Stayed for 3 nights here on a New Forest break-Thurs-Sun. Booked late with only a few days to go and just in time as they were full the whole time we were there. Loved it. It was the best place we have stayed at in a long time. Ann and Ted were very welcoming and accommodating and they go that extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. They rung up for a taxi to take us from the station, let us into our room early and let us keep our bags in the house after we had checked out. They even provided us with glasses and an opener for our New Forest cider! The room was lovely and clean and well presented, with a great view of the beautiful garden. The bathroom was nice and clean. The breakfasts were fabulous-vegetarian friendly with full english including veggie sausages. It was quiet and peaceful too (though might be more noisy if you were at the front of the house, with the main road) Great location to see everything in the New Forest. Highly recommend- we will be back!

Room Tip: Stay at the back of the house if you can, because of the main road
