“Just a lovely place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

Havent been to the New Forest for many years and it was lovely to go back and find it unchanged. Although a popular holiday destination there are still many places that you can get off the beaten track and just relax and enjoy all the animals roam the Forest. Road signs are a bit few and far between particularly around Brockenhurst but get yourself a good map or use sat nav (if you can get a signal!).

“New Forest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

Cultivated by Cromwell as a Royal hunting ground. The New Forest still abides by many of its medieval rules today. Wonderful for walking, cycling picnicing. A national park with semi-wild ponies, pigs, cattle, deer and other wildlife. The heather is abundant in August. It reveals a history of witchcraft, treason, rebellion and a harmony between commoners and aristocracy. The New Forest pubs usually are museums themselves and serve good food and local English beers.

“A beautiful and relaxing break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

We loved seeing the wild ponies, especially the friendly one that decided to stand in front of the car and lick it clean for 10 minutes.
Recommend the Rheinfield Ornamental Drive if you fancy a relaxing drive through beautiful landscape, rather than a walk or bike ride.

“Wish I'd had longer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

Fantastic really open and also wooded scenery, the ponies and cattle getting on with life by the roadside and beyond, lovely lanes and fords, lots of places to park and walk or cycle - I just didn't have enough time - but must be back for another visit!
There were loads of marked cycle paths where I walked and even accidentally disturbed a nesting nightjar - quite the most magic moment ever!
Absolutely beautiful!

Historic, atmospheric, and beautiful, this ancient forest is accessible to all and a delight in all weathers, which is useful in the UK!
