A wonderfull hotel set in peacefull suroundings with deer on the lawn.
not modern but with a style of lts own reflecting the live in owners style.
superb food.
we just enjoyed the friendly welcome and conversations as if we were one of the family.
it realy deserves to be fully booked, especially as it has a new fitness suite with pool.
also easy access to the forest from rear of hotel.

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this beautiful, charming hotel. Mavis and Alan the owners were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The view of the garden from our bedroom window was stunning and were lucky enough to see several deer grazing.
The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the forest.
The hotel boasts a state of the art fitness centre, and billiard room, and as another reviewer has said bar, restaurant and quiet areas.
We will certainly visit again.

Food and service was fantastic! Game casserole was lovely...
Breakfast cooked to order.
The rustic charm and quirky style was a breath of fresh air from the normal modern hotel! Wasn't bothered there wasn't WFI was lovely to be away from technology!

We arrived in the hotel car park with the desire of taking a Forest walk prior to having a drink and a meal in the hotel bar afterwards. However, we were confronted by a very rude man who questioned our reason for parking. When we told him our intention, he said "this is private property and it costs £10 to park here", folllowed by "why havent you booked ?" When we expressed our surprise at this reaction, he told us to leave. Needless to say, we did as he suggested, and are advising all other potential visitors to do the same. This was quite awful customer service that must be highlighted.

My wife had a voucher given to her as a birthday gift in August. My wife phoned a few weeks ago to find that the voucher for a "high tea" could only be used on weekends. Not sure why but hey-ho!

Today (this was a weekend) my wife phoned again mid morning to see if we could attend in the afternoon on the same day to enjoy our High Tea. The lady my wife spoke to was a bit reluctant to accept our booking - and said the choice of sandwich fillings she could offer was limited unless we booked earlier in the week. She informed us what she could offer as sandwich fillings at this moment (because of the short notice) if would still like to come this afternoon. This to us was quite acceptable and we booked a time.

We were wondering how the afternoon was going to pan out, but in the end what was presented was quite acceptable with more than enough to eat. We had pate filled sandwiches, followed by a cream tea with a big dollop of clotted cream and jam. We finished our treat with Dorset Apple cake. Plenty of tea which was topped up without asking.

The lady (who I assume was the owner) was quite pleasant and in the end it was a nice way to finish our day.

We live in the New Forest. It was a lovely sunny day so we decided to visit Bramble Hill for a morning coffee on our way to Romsey. After negotiating the large pothole at the entrance to the drive we wondered if things had improved since we visited a year ago. Unfortunately not, the front door was locked, no notices to say open or closed and no signs of life so we continued to Romsey.
We call it Faulty Towers - so phone in advance if you are thinking of visiting. Such a shame as the location is lovely and it really could be a booming business.
