My fiance booked us a stay at the White Rabbit as a surprise treat for my birthday.
I was delighted on arrival at the friendly welcome from the lady at reception & when shown our lovely room.
The room had all the things you need for a comfortable stay, with the biggest superking sized bed ive ever seen. And as a bonus it had a bath instead of just a shower, with dove shower gel & handwash in dispensers.
We enjoyed several nice meals in the restaurant which I would describe as good pub grub with hearty portions for reasonable prices. We also had the cooked breakfasts which we also enjoyed.
The hotel is situated just a short level walk from the village center and is am ideal base for exploring the area.

Just stayed for 3 nights, good room, with modern decor, unfortunately felt a little shut in with frosted windows but justified looking onto a flat felted roof. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and polite with nothing to much trouble. Food in the restaurant was OK but not exceptional. Breakfast was good with good variety, unfortunately very slow toaster. Would have been nice to have the tea and coffee tray replenished each day but just asked for more milk at the reception and was given a small jug of fresh milk with out complaint .A good base for seeing the New Forest.

We stayed early March for two nights. The room was very spacious, modern and clean. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member and the rest of the staff were just as lovely!

The first night we ate in the restaurant, the food was fine, nothing special but good for the price we paid. The only downside was that it was a little quiet, probably due to the time of year. Never the less we had a few drinks in the bar and retired to our room.

A pleasant stay and good location to visit other towns.

Clean and well presented Hotel. Obviously been refurbished in the last year and done very well.Stayed 2 nights in room 12, lovely spacious room with a sofa, the showers are amazing when you work out how to turn them on. Lady on reception is very helpful and carries your bags, not bad for a non rated hotel. You don't even get that in 4 star.Breakfast was lovely and hot and evening dinner although very busy was as it said on the menu. Paulina served us and was very kind with our awkward requests. All the staff seemed to be enjoying there jobs which is nice to see. Lots of leaflets in the hotel lobby and Emma on reception helped us to hire bikes for the weekend. Would return if we had the chance as a memorable stay. Perfect.

Room Tip: Room 12 is quiet and large, We bought it as a family room as figured we would get more space. We did...

Just stayed three days at the White Rabbit which was booked by parents as trip for us returning from the States for the first time in 7 yrs. The staff are welcoming, friendly, efficient and accommodating. I value cleanliness above all else, and the WR is very well cleaned. Excellent touch having Dove on tap in the bathrooms, as I forgot my shower gel. Lovely location just steps away from the high street and restaurants, tea shops and pharmacy etc. BUT, do try the in house restaurant, this is no ordinary pub grub, the steak is excellent, pork belly the sign of talent in the kitchen and delicious choc fudge cake presented beautifully, a traditional, well executed english favourite. The hotel is surrounded by landscaped gardens, full of birdsong, maintained beautifully with plenty of picnic seating for dining outside. English and Continental breakfast is comprehensive, good quality and value.
For those who complained about the water pump noise, we dont understand it! We stayed in the room where you could hear it, it lasted about 3 minutes and was gone, hardly a big deal and there's plenty of hot water on tap, minor in the grand scheme of things. Also useful is the night door system. I would challenge anyone to find a comparable place at this price with these amenities in this kind of location. I peeked into the room of a friend staying in one of the larger named places around the corner on the high street and it was much shabbier and smaller than the White Rabbit for the same price). Three different brides also came back to this hotel during our stay so they must be onto something! All beds were new Sept '11 and feel supportive. Look forward to returning on our next trip to the beautiful and very special New Forest and will 100% stay here.

Room Tip: We picked a room on the main street - the traffic noise dies down, didnt affect our sleep and we nee...
