“Third time”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 via mobile

Just had one night stay back at which green cottage - our third trip . I can only echo comments made by others that David and Carol are delightful hosts and get the balance right at breakfast about how much to chat and how much to leave you too enjoy breakfast . We would just go there to experience the eggs which are such a bright yellow as the eggs are straight from the bottom!! Know we will be back as having now discovered this place we never look around .

We loved our room and the attention to detail such as gorgeous wooden beams, toiletries, numerous hot drink options, water bottles and even the kettle filled up daily. The area is fantastic if your an animal lover, there are sheep right outside daily, chickens in the gardens, donkeys and horses along the road and we even spotted some wandering pigs and a peacock.

Definitely one of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in - & we hope to come back again. Carol and David are really lovely and welcoming, we all felt very much at home. We stayed in a separate cottage a few yards down the road, while my parents were in a room in the main B&B. Lovely accommodation, traditional English rural style, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good - loved David's home made jams and marmalades! Our children loved the ponies wandering down the lane next to the house! Very quiet and peaceful. A great location - perfect as a base for exploring the New Forest or even further afield (only 30 mins from Bournemouth and 45 minutes to the historic naval docks in Portsmouth with the fascinating Mary Rose museum). Wished we could have stayed longer! Next time....

A spontaneous plan formulated late Saturday morning to spend what was left of the weekend in the New Forest was looking like a non starter when every bit of accommodation (at least on booking.com!) south of the A31 was fully booked. It turned out to be a spot of good fortune really as this led us to booking a night here in what was more desperation and relief but resulted in an experience akin to everyone else in that it was an excellent overnight stay and morning breakfast. Carol was lovely, the room private and had all we needed and the tea, coffee, fresh milk, bottled water and breakfast provided put the hotels I've stayed in to shame. I can honestly say from being a random hurriedly picked B&B it will now be a first choice next time we visit the area.

One of the best B&Bs I've stayed. Very homely rooms that have all the amenities of five star hotels but not pretentious. The rooms in the main house are clean and comfortable with soft bed linens and traditional British country-home design. The location was quiet and green, with wild ponies and sheep just outside the main gate. Breakfast was great with seasonal fruit and homemade jam. We borrowed their bikes and helmet (with cycling map, locks, compass etc). Carol was very friendly and gave good advice on places to visit and eat. You will need a car or bike to get around. Highly recommend it!

Room Tip: We stayed in the double room and single room in the main house, both were lovely and quiet.

Fabulous location, very comfortable room with all you could possibly need, including a small fridge. Carol and David are the best hosts and make us very welcome. We absolutely love it there - animals roam freely and cycling is brilliant in the forest. Excellent food at the local pubs but you hardly need it after the marvellous breakfast that they provide. All fresh local produce or home made. Downside is I think I may be a couple of pounds heavier!

Good hosts and good comfortable accommodation, room was nice and clean. Only issue was wi-fi not in range in the exterior room that we were staying in. (not much of an issue really) Nice breakfast provided and hosts helpful with information on New Forest.
