We were looking for a nice pub/restaurant to have our last meal out to end our wonderful stay in the New Forest and were so glad we chose this place. Set deep in the woodland along a long unmade road, was a great find for us. It was a monday eve so fairly quiet but we were welcomed by the young friendly staff, they couldn't have been more accomodating. The food was excellent and service very good indeed. The young lad who was serving our food, made time to chat to us which made a real difference. Would recommend this pub!

We stayed here for the weekend of the New Forest Running festival and will be back again if we get the chance. Such a fabulous location, really friendly, helpful staff and the food was amazing. Even though breakfast wasn't until 8.30, they opened the kitchen for us at 7.30 so the runners could have their porridge before their 9am run! They also allowed a late check out so we could come back after the run to shower and change. It's unusual for people to go above and beyond these days but that's what they do here! The only slight criticisms would be that the place could be cleaner (the public areas, our room was fine), didn't like having a 'plastic' undersheet on the bed and if you get freaked out by a lack of phone signal/wifi then it's not for you! On the whole great though!

Room Tip: If you want a stand up shower ask for it as not all rooms have them.

Stayed here with a colleague in late Feb. Quiet because of the time of year but still a full restaurant at breakfast.
Service was great throughout and it had a real B&B feel to it rather than a faceless hotel. We had 2 rooms both of which were very clean and tidy with all the facilities you'd want. My bath was enormous!
Dined in the restaurant in the evening which was pleasant but the breakfast was the stand out item for me. Freshly cooked, high quality and set us up for a 4 hours meeting and 5 hours drive. I will definitely stay here again if I can get a room!
I've put a 5 for fitness centre cos I had a run through the New Forest in the morning and that's better than anyone air conditioned gym!

What a wonderful find, just returned from our second visit and have booked a third!
Located in an idyllic spot, leave the car in the Carpark, take your bikes or even your horse, stables available or just enjoy the many miles of footpaths. Or if you prefer to explore with a car etc, many places of interest are close by.
In the evening, a good choice of tasty meals and puddings to choose from.
Very good portions, they cater well for hungry folk!
Breakfast is excellent, again with a great choice.
Rooms are very comfortable, both the ensuites we experienced had touch of luxury about them, very relaxing.
Must mention the staff, all very friendly and helpful, nothing to much trouble. Thank you, we look forward to our next visit.

We could not have been more shocked as with the room being priced so low for the area and seeing egg and chips on the menu we were very apprehensive. Ignoring the weather being atrocious it did not spoil the views and ambiance of the location. We were very well greeted and helped to our room. The beer was splendid and we were very pleased with the standard of the food - bacon with black pudding, mushrooms and wine sauce/deep fried camembert/lamb shank/venison minced pie. Chocolate tart lacked raspberries and the jam tried to make up for it. However, all the food and beer was top notch to say how on earth does it get there? Our room was clean and spacious and prepared for us wanting two singles put together. The bill was sorted to help us and very much appreciated as most would not be bothered to help so thank you for your professional manner the whole time.
Only downsides are to help the High Corner Inn - new toilet seat needed and the shower fitting with the bath clearly does not function and should be pointed out to folk. Springs in the mattresses may be an issue to some.
The dawn chorus was the final good bit. Great place and hope to stay again. Wish I had dogs or horses to book in too!!!

We chose this place to stop at on our way down to Dorset as it was dog friendly. We were a bit worried we wouldn't find it after reading some reviews but the Satnav took us straight there and it was also signposted from the road. A long bumpy track leads down to plenty of parking. Outside there are plenty of benches set in a large garden with a playground. Inside you will find a traditional country pub which was clean and inviting. We asked where we could sit with a dog and were informed that anywhere was ok! This is unusual but very welcome. There were dog treats on the bar and the staff was very attentive. We ordered ham, egg and chips each (I chose the smaller portion which was more than adequate for lunch) and a childs nuggets and chips. The meals were served within a few minutes and were delicious. The nuggets were homemade and all in all great value. We would definitely return and would consider the B&B option. Just a pity we didn't have time for a long walk as the surrounding countryside was spectacular.
