“Not for me, couldn't wait to leave”

This is a noisy, dirty pub, with rooms above. The room was small, filthy, and noisy. When the pub kicked out there was shouting and noise for about an hour. I had to be up early the next day but a market is run outside the pub, so from about 6am there are trucks, voices, trolleys right outside, very noisy. The bathroom was a particular joy, clearly hadn't been properly cleaned in years, and the bin had the previous occupants used sanitary towels in it. I will not stay here again, ever.

Stayed with my girlfriend and her 3 year old daughter. Upon arrival we were greeted with a very helpful member of staff, very good with kids. We ate in the restaurant, and admittedly the food isn't going to win any Michelin stars, but the food was decent pub grub and again the service was great. It was a Saturday night, so the local youths were out in force. They may have been a little rowdy, but kept themselves to themselves. My only disappointment was that the local beers that I was looking forward to sampling, only one was available. The breakfast was really good, and again the staff were very friendly and accommodating and helped us out with our plans for the day by recommending local towns, sights, donkey rides etc. All in all, I recommend this place for a short stay and we will be returning.

We stayed one night and that was enough. I agree with other reviewers the rooms are in need of a thorough clean. We moved a bedside cabinet to find an extra powerpoint and I don't think they had been moved for a long time. The dust was inches deep. The windowframes were covered in black mould and the net curtains were in need of a good wash. The bed was extremely hard but the bed linen was clean. The bathroom could have done with a good dust everywhere but the toilet, basin and shower had been cleaed. There were no instructions on how the shower worked so you either froze to death or got scalded trying to get this right. You had to stand in the shower to sort this. Breakfast was medioca, srambled eggs freshly made but coffee from instant packets. I don't mind that in the rooms, but NOT for breakfast. The staff were very pleasant and the parking off road was a bonus, but we will probably not stay in another Marstons hotel if this one is anything to go by.

This town centre hotel is above and attached to a noisy pub, so beware. The bed itself was not the most comfortable, to be honest.

It became apparent that our room had been skipped by housekeeping as it was unclean and there was rubbish strewn everywhere left by the previous guest. We also had no towels. However, problems do sometimes occur and what matters is how they are dealt with. Upon checkout, we informed the manageress of what we had found, and she seemed horrified and without any prompting declined to charge us at all for the room. For this, they cannot be faulted, I would have been satisfied with a partial discount. So it's probably safe to say our experience was just bad luck, rather than typical.

The breakfast was quite good too.

I wouldn't stay again as the location and the noise is not to my taste, but the staff are very helpful and professional on the whole (the obvious neglected cleaning aside).

Only spent 1 night here (on a tuesday) with a friend. We got a four poster bed which was an unexpected surprise, in room 8 at the front of the hotel. There are patches where the wallpaper is peeling, the windows could do with some repair, and there are signs of damp. It also needs a good clean. Downstairs it is a pub, which is lively but friendly, with a nice choice of ales. Food is what you'd expect in a pub !
There is a market directly outside on a wednesday which starts setting up at 6am, which will wake you up !

Bar staff were friendly, but that's about the only plus point.
Food took a long time to arrive, much longer than we had been told. During the interminable wait we were entertained by the "chef" shouting and swearing.

When it finally arrived the food was very poor, burgers barely cooked, whilst the black pudding really was black, so over-coked it was like charcoal!

Will not be returning and would advise others against eating there.

The staff here are really friendly, which is about the best going for it.

The double exec room was tiny and the window would not open, so by the end of (thankfully) just a one night stay, claustrophobia was beginning to set in. The room was dusty, carpets filthy and the bathroom tiles had soap scum all down the tiles in the bathroom.

Also had the swinging white hart sign outside, that squeaked ALL NIGHT!

The public toilets in the bar area are a disgrace, toilet roll holders hanging off (not that they were needed as no toilet roll in them anyway!), filthy grime building up everywhere.

Good location in the centre of Ringwood, but for an extra 5 minutes walk, I would stay elsewhere next time.

Room Tip: I would advise to look at your room before you carry your suitcases up the stairs!
