“Wonderful place to spend time”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

We had the most wonderful time at Little Forest. The owners are excellent hosts, very personable, lovely to our two children and they cooked the most amazing breakfast. Little Forest is perfectly located for exploring the new forest and is minutes away, by car, from cycle tracks.
The accommodation was spotless and beautifully presented we very made to feel very comfortable and very welcome always. Thank you for making our stay so special, I am only sorry it's taken me so long to write the report!

Room Tip: We were a family of four and had a self contained apartment which had been purpose built at the side...

My wife and I stayed recently while visiting friends in the area. We received a really warm and friendly welcome from Simon, Cherry and their 2 dogs. Our accommodation was really spacious and the breakfast so extensive that it kept us going all day! Simon's experience in the hospitality industry shows with nice details like the honesty bar in the lounge so that you can fix yourself an early evening drink while getting ready to go out or a nightcap on your return. Also he was really accommodating and gave us a lift into Ringwood where we were meeting our friends. Also considering the New Forest is now a national park found the accommodation very reasonable compared to other B&Bs in the area.

We have just returned from 3 nights staying with Simon and Cherie, a lovely friendly welcoming couple who welcomed us and our excited cocker spaniel with open arms. we had Room 3, a spacious room with an extra single bed if you had 3 in your party. It had double aspect windows with views across their expansive gardens, as well as a spacious en suite, with bath & over bath shower. There were tea & coffee facilities and even doggie biscuits for pooch Bailey. When we arrived we were also shown into the guest lounge where we were served tea and coffee with lovely scones. Both Simon and Cherie took time to assist us with maps, evening meal suggestions etc. Dogs are welcome in most pubs in the New Forest. We were also able to borrow any of their guide books for the duration of our stay. As such we were able to do some great walks. Breakfast was a tasty, hearty affair with a wide choice of cereals, porridge, fruit, yogurt, as well as a cooked breakfast with your choice of egg. We absolutely loved the Little Forest lodge! It was very reasonable and service was excellent. the only downside is it is off the A31 which is a very busy fast road, pulling in and out of the accomodation did stress me due to the speed and volume of traffic at peak times. Noise from the road was minimal when in the lodge, However without doubt a very very suitable choice for those with dogs and they also warmly welcome children. Would certainly recommend.

Thank you Cherry and Simon for squeezing us in over the bank holiday weekend! We stayed with our two boys and dog in rooms next door to each other. Lovely rooms, incredible hosts and delicious breakfast (and the homemade cakes on arrival)!! We were even treated to having our beds made the next day which wasn't expected but was a lovely touch. Great base for visiting the surrounding area (again, Simon and Cherry were so helpful in directing us to the best beaches etc!) and a great bed to relax in after a hard days walk! Even our Rosie got a great welcome from the resident hounds!
Cannot wait to return in the near future!!

Four of us (including our two Golden Retrievers Holly and Oscar) enjoyed two fantastic nights' stay at this B&B in the heart of the New Forest. Simon and Cherry were wonderful hosts and could not do enough to make us all feel at home. The room we stayed in was very spacious and had its own patio and enclosed garden area which was just perfect for the dogs.

Simon's cooked breakfasts were marvellous and this is by far the best B&B we have stayed in. I would recommend it to anyone but especially those travelling with dogs. We will definitely be coming back!

Little Forest Lodge is a beautiful place to stay for so many reasons, and Simon and Cherry are quite simply fantastic! They made me, my girlfriend and our dog feel welcome from the second we arrived to the moment we left. I think that the fact that I proposed to my girlfriend in the Garden (and she said yes) should give you an indication of how lovely this place is! We can't thank Simon and Cherry enough for making our stay so special, and we can't wait to go back again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the garden room; this room is perfect if you have a dog. Not only is it more like a sma...

Simon and Cherry made every effort for us to feel welcome and relaxed. We travelled down and arrived later than we had hoped due to traffic. When we arrived we were welcomed with a coffee and some lovely home made lemon cakes. To make it even better Simon even offered (and we accepted) to give us a lift to the wedding we were attending up the road. What a most welcome surprise. The place was lovely and clean and to top it off we had a lovely cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. This couple were certainly made for the industry!
