This is our second visit in about 30 years......and to be honest there has not been enormous improvements in that time. Yes it has changed, but it is not as big as I would have expected after all these years. Sure there are some really good old cars, but not as many "specials" from slightly more recent years - those that the older motorist of today would actually remember. There is a little fun ride through the ages of motoring - but not suitable for anyone that has any problems walking as it is a step-on/step-off ride and it actually moves quite fast. But if you can get on it it is a bit of fun - and you get a chance to sit down! But all that said - it was a good visit. It also has the advantage of the "Top Gear" exhibition next door, do not miss that. Very very interesting and with cars used in the TV series with the matching episode showing next to it. And it is worth queuing up for the "Studio" episode.
The restaurant next to the museum do have a monopoly as it is the only place to eat/drink. But it is not brilliant and it is very overpriced. So if it is a nice day - take a picnic!
We will probably visit again in the coming years - and maybe it will feel better then.
