My aim, as ever, is to give a factual review. Please click if you find it useful.

Had afternoon tea in proper china cups/ saucers and a more than ample size of home made chocolate cake. There are many more options on the menu. Service good and will definitely return.

We walked from Bucklar's Hard to Beaulieu Village and the footpath exits onto the high street right opposite these lovely tea rooms. The weather was good enough to sit outside and because of that there was a lot of room inside as well. The menu extends from snacks, sandwiches, jacket potatoes to main course salads, as well as cakes and desserts. We were a party of four and everything we ordered was fresh and well presented. Their sandwiches are made from home made bread (still warm) and my jacket potato was very substantial with a good portion of prawns. If you are visiting this quaint English Village then this place is ideal to stop off on a walk or on your journey further into the New Forest. I would imagine that this gets very busy indeed as it was a lot busier than the Montagu Arms, opposite where prices are double!

My wife and I walked from Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard and back in time for lunch at this cafe. We had two dishes from the specials board and thought they were both awesome ! They seem to do the normal sorts of food but sometimes with a little twist which was nice. Thought the price was very reasonable for the amount of food served up, more than a lunchtime snack. We couldn't resist the apple strudel ice cream or the millionaires shortbread ice cream . Both naughty but nice. They take cards for purchases over £5 so don't worry if you've not got a lot of cash. Thought the tea was tea-like so not sure what a previous reviewer had issues for. Lots of locals in there and also cyclists and walkers . A little gem we thought.

Wanted to just write another review here, even though we do frequent this marvellous place fairly regularly, but over the Easter break, some friends from Somerset came to visit, so we bought them here (obviously we would !).

I was a little nervous as they ordered a cream tea & seeing as Somerset is well known along with Devon for their splendid cream tea's I wasn't sure how we would fair up here in Hampshire....however, the Bakehouse, lived up to its standard yet again, & they couldn't get enough of it... Not only did they enjoy the cream tea, but they adored the location & charm of the surroundings.

In fact the whole experience has left them wanting to bring their caravan up for the Summer holidays to the New Forest in general.

There has been a review here that says The Old Bakehouse held no charm .... well, charm is to please, & there is nothing more pleasing than this little place, which is clean with fresh food/large portions of home baked cakes & a good cuppa/coffee or soft drink, along with the added benefit of the odd donkey or horse watching you through the window outside whilst you tuck into the gastro delights.

Very well worth a visit..... what have you got to lose ?

Visited about an hour before closing, still plenty of cake to choose from and boy do you get big pieces- if you have kids get them to share a slab! It was warm ,cosy, clean and looked like a typical holiday tea room. We were very happy with the quality of the food and experience. The service was ok, but just felt the staff were a little tired or fed-up; they seemed ready to close. I think the cold weather has probably taken its toll on business and seeing the snow out the window yet again was their icing on the cake!! I would go back though.
