This museum comes under the category of "tries hard". I'm not a big Dr Who fan, but my nephews are, so we forked out the rather high entrance fee (£8 adults and £6 kids) and ventured in. It's certainly an interesting layout being down in a labyrinth of rooms in a cellar. But the collection was rather static for me and I didn't really get much excitement over seeing the various types of Darleks, Cybermen or extras costumes. I guess you need to be a real Dr Who fan to fully appreciate the displays. Somehow we managed to stretch out the visit to 45 mins and it kept the kids mildly amused.

“All of time and space, in a basement”
Reviewed 1 October 2011

From the outside, it is deceptive as to what is on the inside. On entering, it appears to be a small cafe with a few Doctor Who merchandise for sale. However, after entering through the Tardis doors, you head down into the basement, where you enter a small labyrinth of tunnels, lined with glass casings of all things sci-fi. Included in these are the captain scarlet and thunderbirds marionettes, items from red dwarf and many life-sized cybermen from different series. A lot of the life-sized costumes were from taking from the bar scene of David Tennants final episode, of which most of the characters you would have missed, so it was nice to see these up close. Hidden in one dark corner were 5 darleks from different eras, guarded by K9, alongside which there was the head of a red-eyed ood.
Overall, it was a good hours entertainment for any doctor who enthusiast, even appealing to the not so enthused as well.
