Family have mentioned about this interesting hotel that sits in Bromyard - we couldn't get booked at this hotel a few yrs back we knew we had to stay there this time....
Booked on Internet 2 families were coming down.
On arrival signposted and good clear sings to car park.

Knocked and greeted by a lady who was clearly the 'famous landlady' a bit confusion over room, and was told no hot food would be served! was shown to top room number 8.
(this didn't bother us as we were off to family celebrations)
Big and spacious (with child), old fashion but definitely fits in with the character of the building and everything there was what we needed.
We could come and go as we like with back door keys and free parking.

A great night sleep in a very comfortable bed lovely and warm.
A hot shower with plenty of towels.

Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous a good choice of cereals, fruit and fresh orange juice also Tea/Coffee.
A menu to order Full English with different types off eggs or an vegetarian option (we had full english). Toast with selection of butter, jams and honey...
Food all came out at once as did more toast...
After checking out we could even leave our car in their car park while we had a look about.

Spotless and comfortable at this hotel and comments don't put me off for staying, would definitely stay again....

Thank You - the Crake's and the Rutherford's

We stayed in the 'family room' with a double and two singles this May bank holiday weekend, really spacious and with comfortable beds, large bathroom. With free wifi, and great full English breakfast. Free parking at rear. Quirky old-fashioned Tudor building slightly worn in places but very comfortable all round. The dining room / restaurant serves large portions of solid grub, such as stewed rabbit, steak, duck etc at very reasonable prices.
And the service from John and wife Sylvia is just terrific. The room for the three of us was £93 booked online, though its just as easy to ring them direct and get the exact room you require.
A very enjoyable stay.

Awful experience had at this hotel. We were attending a function in the ballroom and the lady who I now know to be the landlady was serving the desert with her hands. No gloves, no utensils, just her bare hands for all but the trifle. I opted for the trifle for this reason but asked if there was any alcohol in it as I am pregnant. She replied that she didn't know so I asked politely if she could find out as I was pregnant. The response astounded me! She threw down the serving spoon for the trifle and told me to serve the people behind me and stormed off.

I took this matter up with the gentleman on the bar as I was told he was in charge and all he did was ask the lady what was going on. She very aggressively responded that there was no alcohol in the trifle and practically squared upto me so I asked her to re-evaluate how she was talking to me. She shouted that she was very busy and when I mentioned about the lack of gloves/utensils for serving, her excuse was that it was quicker for her to use her hands. They really should not/do not deserve to be in business.

I'll never go back there and have reported them for practicing bad food hygiene.

The Falcon is a fabulous old building and well worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere. Having not had a meal there for years, a group of 10 of us arrived for Sunday lunch and were treated to the best Sunday roast you could wish for. The food was plentiful and the price was incredibly reasonable, £7.50 for the main course. Our group chose different dishes from the menu, which had plenty of options and everything was homemade. Expecting to have the usual Sunday carvery, we were all pleasantly surprised to be waited on attentively, with everyone's meal arriving at the same time. The owners, Sylvia and John, are known locally as entertaining characters and the Falcon wouldn't be the same without them. If you lack a sense of humour then don't bother visiting the Falcon. This is Bromyard, home of music, amateur dramatics, food and beer festivals, embrace it and it'll embrace you.

We contacted the Falcon Hotel about hosting a lunch for my husbands 60th Birthday when another establishment near by didn't seem to be too interested in lunch for 30/40 people. From the very beginning Sylvia( the owner) was nothing but helpful. We had a budget for a 2 course lunch and she was happy to to provide lunch with coffee for that price. Sylvia insisted we had three options plus a vegetarian choice and two puddings or cheese and biscuits to finish. As we live in Dorset we only had one short meeting to discuss the menu with Jane the chef but we were confident it was going to be good. In the end we had 43 for lunch and we took over all the accommodation on the Saturday night.
On the day we had the ballroom to ourselves the rooms was beautifully laid out. Our guests arrived and Sylvia and her staff took over to provided an amazing lunch with way too much food which was all home made (including the delicious clotted cream ice cream). Some of our guest left and the reminder adjourned to the bar where we remained in varying degrees until midnight. some guest had supper and their food once again was excellent and large portions (everyone is still talking about the game pie and the ham). We had a excellent breakfast and departed on Sunday morning with everyone saying how they enjoyed the food and the very old and quirky hotel. This is a traditional family run hotel and is all the more fun for it, yes Sylvia does like things done properly and she is a character but she enhanced our weekend from when we arrived on Friday night to the moment we left. Our friends who live reasonably close by are adding the Hotel to the lunch stop before a walk on Bromyard downs.

Room Tip: Our party did use all the rooms some are small and most have extra beds for families so they do feel...

Stayed here for one night a few years ago and it was like Fawlty Towers then. Travelling through Bromyard the other day we thought hay give it the benefit of the doubt, and stop for a coffee, mainly because we needed the loo and thought it a reason to try them again. We went to reception and ordered two coffees. She (the strange lady) said it will be about 10 minutes reluctant to serve us really. She said, not asked us politely, go and sit in the lounge. We headed to what we though was the lounge and she screamed at us, not in there!!! We said well if you explained where the lounge was..........

Anyway after about 5 minutes the coffee arrived, swe drak it paid and left.

Never again.
