Thank you for posting your review following your business trip to The Grove. I hope we may have the pleasure of your company again soon when I hope you might have a little longer to relax and unwind in our wonderful surroundings.
I stayed at The Grove during an offsite meeting with my team, and everything was close to perfection. Spacious, clean rooms, with warm lighting and comfortable beds. Nice and airy bathrooms with little amenities and a good power shower / bath tub. Breakfast was simply delicious, a buffet bursting with fantastic fresh food and an incredible variety as well as hot food freshly prepared! All the food we had was great: the dinner at the Stables, the breakfast and the lunch. Service was pretty spot on; we held a 6.5-hour-meeting on the first day and had food and drinks served in the room in no time with no hassle. All in all it felt like a tiny holiday although it was a work trip. I hope I will return soon privately, and with enough time to try the spa as well :).
Thank you for taking the time to post your excellent review of The Grove. I will be delighted to share your comments with the team and hope we will see you again soon for business or pleasure!
We were to attend a ball on the evening and we were really looking forward to a night of luxury at this hotel.
We were warmly welcomed and decided to have lunch, We were left sitting there for about 20 minutes before we were attended by a waiter, once we had ordered service was fine, good in fact.
We were told our room would be ready at the normal check in time and they took our telephone number to advise us when the room was ready! ten minutes after that check in time I went to reception and asked if the room was ready and they said they thought it was but they were waiting for confirmation from house keeping, we didn't mind too much but not what you expect from a 5 star hotel !!
We then went to the room, we had been upgraded and well, I was very shocked. The room was fine but nothing special and certainly did not have the "wow" factor, It was large and comfortable but not impressive.
The grounds were lovely and there were areas that did have the "wow" factor.
Before we went here somebody said to me that I should have my wedding here but having visited it is not even in my top 5 venues. I have worked in the past in tourism and in hotels and I do not understand why this hotel has such a good name ! Maybe I'm fussy but I was expecting 5 star and this to me was not. OOh also the Spa prices are ridiculous and they cannot justify a normal aromatherapy facial for about £100.
Also if you are planning a romantic weekend be warned there are children of all nationalities running about everywhere, probably because it is near to the Harry Potter theme park thing !
So to conclude, clean, friendly staff but felt like a holiday camp or a" family resort".
thank you for your review. I am sorry to read your experience at The Grove did not meet your expectations. We pride ourselves on delivering a high level of service and hope that we may have the opportunity in the near future to serve you better.
We went to The Grove for our friends 60th Birthday, Afternoon tea, Champaign first with three people playing wonderful music, then we went through to a joining room, if it had been my wedding I would be over the moon, the setting was fantastic, A great treat. staff very helpful, but only one could speak English, this was not a problem as we could not ask for more.
Dear maria c,
Thank you for your review and for choosing The Grove for your celebrations. I am so pleased to hear you had a wonderful time with us and I look forward to welcoming you again soon.
We met up with 3 other couples for birthday celebrations over dinner. We checked in at the Glasshouse restaurant and then enjoyed aperitifs in one of the cosy lounges just behind reception. The staff were very helpful and even arranged for the England football team to come and say hello to us, which was an unexpected surprise. The food is absolutely delicious and the arrangement of unrestricted visits to the buffet perfectly suited some of our party, who had starved themselves from lunchtime! Drinks are very expensive and the wine list is overpriced by about 20% for the quality of wines on offer, but no-one is forcing you to drink so if you choose to partake be prepared.
Dear Noel R,
Thank you for your kind review of The Grove and your experience of The Glasshouse. I am delighted we were able to welcome you for this special occasion and look forward to welcoming you again soon.
I recently had a weekend with my wife at The Grove, the first for several years. I was delighted to find out that the quality of the hotel has not reduced over the years. Every part of our stay was a delight from the room, to the bars and restaurants and my personal favourite the golf course.
Dear Gordon J,
Thank you for returning to The Grove after a number of years, and for taking the time to share your positive feedback. I hope it won't be so long before we see you again.
